    its far too late unfortunately. The best we can hope for now is minor changes over 7.x with a revamp coming in 8.0. That said, I have little faith the devs are going to overhaul the jobs in any real substantive way even then. I hope they prove me wrong in 3 years

    It doesn't change the fact that these abilities are boring and just things you're gonna be hitting on CD with very few exceptions.

    The jobs need more core abilities that are being used in the filler rotation, but only BLM and SGE actually got those as far as I noticed.

    green mage isnt a "staple" job, green magic wasnt a thing till ff12, and even then most green magic spells were just classically the buff/debuff spells from white magic
    I really don’t think “one button becomes the next button” was their problem

    A button that follows your two minute burst whether fused on not is hilariously uninspired and does nothing to change any of the jobs in any meaningful way and they gave it to like 15 out of the 20 classes

    As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.

    I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess

    Exactly, almost none of those actions are anything other than just... plain damage. Not even an actual mechanic like an unlocked combo or stuff that interacts with the rest of your kit. Almost everything to me sounds like design bloat to inflate the number of things happening inside the 2min burst windows.

    Poor SMN though, got to be the most egregious example of this, because the 'main feature' Solar Bahamut is literally just a cosmetic reskin because mechanically it's the same.

    To me, it sounds more like they couldn't think of anything better to do so just went with ol tried and true "Add big attack after using a cooldown"

    I remember joking in Endwalker that they just gave every job a big laser (Shadowbringer, Blast Arrow, Chainsaw, etc) but this is literally just giving a big shiny AoE to every job and calling it a day. I think I'd rather them not make any changes at all than just copy paste the same skill onto every job.

    Huh... wait, why are people surprised? They gave ZERO indication there was going to be any sizable job changes for 7.0. This is SE for fuck sake, if theres a big change coming up soon they do not beat around the bush with it, you'll hear it 2-3 live letters out before it drops...

    if they completely redone jobs like they did to mch and monk back in the day youd have peopel complainging about how its "not the job we liked anymore"
