I feel like middling GM teams are par-for-the-course when it comes to MMOs these days. One of the (larger) reasons why I'll probably never touch WoW again is the fact that they entirely gutted their CS team and replaced it with a copy/paste bot, making it impossible to actually resolve any problems. Be thankful you even spoke to a real person.
