I know there is a new game +, but if they translated it, I would most likely make an alter to play it all over again with secondaries and everything
This would be great. My younger brother loves the game but he isn’t fluent in English so I have to translate the dialogue for him so he can have an idea of what is going on. He would love to have the option to play in Spanish. It’s actually wild this is still not in the game considering Spanish is one of the most used languages in the world.
¡Por favor, señor Yoshi!
Please, Mr. Yoshi, we are not asking for so much as dubbing, just having the text translated to understand and enjoy the story 100% would make us very happy.
First time on the forum supporting this dream for many of us.
My wife and I dream of the day when it will be translated into Spanish, starting with alts as if it were the first time, doing all the quests and very calmly. So ARR>DT.
While I agree that not dubbing it in the short-term would be nice so that Spanish speakers can enjoy the game in our native language as soon as possible, I think it's fair to also ask to have it dubbed over time.
They could start with the latest installments or expansions and then slowly work from ARR onward, for instance.
Anything less than that would make for a lower quality game, in my opinion.
And this is coming from a Spanish native speaker that plays games mostly in English but I know many people that cannot play or do play but cannot enjoy the game due to the lack of translation.
Here's hoping!
Personally I think it would be beter to start with DT and work on the others after, but since the thing is that people won't buy the game if it's not in spanish I think the right thing to do would be to start with ARR.
I am in full support of this! I'm still surprised there is no option to pick Spanish
I love the men in this game
I finally return to the game! Current goal: getting all my jobs to 90

I speak 5 languages, and I'm fluent in 4 of them, English being one of those. I've comfortably played this game in 2 of its languages (English and Japanese), and I could somewhat defend myself if I ever wanted to play it in a third one (French). I have no need for this being localized to Spanish, but I can still be aware about there being people either too young (13 years olds can play this) or too old to have a proper grasp of English in order to play and enjoy a story-heavy game such as this one. Especially when sometimes the English localization uses non-standard/modern English. And even if everyone could understand English perfectly, that doesn't negate the fact that most people will always prefer to play in their native language if they're given the option. So, if there's a high enough demand within the community as it seems, it would make sense to work on a Spanish localization (or any other language that meets the numbers). Voicing such demand is the right thing to do.
In other words, your remark is a quite ignorant one. And, sadly, the cause is not as easy to fix as spending some time at school.
Anyway, in regards to the main topic of this thread, I think that I heard some time ago that Koji mentioned the possibility of a Spanish localization possibly happening "soon", and being interested in maybe recruiting folks to add to the team. Was it at the EU fanfest? I think so. But I might be wrong, tho, or perhaps it actually happened but it was just PR talk.
Other MMOs that lacked a Spanish localization for years, decades even, offered one not long ago (EVE and ESO). Others, like WoW or GW2, were localized to Spanish at or shortly after launch. FFXIV (and FFXI) is the only MMO from the top ones that still doesn't, despite every other SE game released in the West offering such option (and having done so for decades).
