Petition for Spanish Translation of Final Fantasy XIV

I would honestly love to have the game dubbed in spanish and I think this is an amazing initiative! I think a lot of spanish people who don't want to play because the language barrier scares them, so I think adding the support and dub for spanish, it would be a great idea and way more accessible!

And we compare it on the numbers of members and active members of the Spanish Community (wich doesn't include so many Latin and we don't have an official translation, therefore we're not "maxed out"):


We can see that, in fact, IT IS feasible from a finance PoV

As you said i see completely fine-ish if we don't have a dub, since we're used to it and it can get more complicated, but not even text?

I remember searching trough the topic and seeing threads of over 10 years ago praying and asking for a spanish tl and welp, here we are lmao

I also recall one of the main reasons why it couldn't be done is because all tl come from JP and not English, wich while i find great can also see why it's hard to find people

And for last i'm really, really surprised there haven't been any side-projects to try and tl the game community wise, not only in spanish but in general for other communities that also want it(Think PR is also a big one that also would like the game tl)

It also gets funnier when we actually have ads and merch for the game in actual spanish lmao, then you get slapped in game with english at much

I play on english. BUT I know of plenty of friends that won't get into XIV because of the language barrier. Please, add it. It will be worth the investment!

As an example: games workshop, THE giant of the wargaming landscape, has switched from english only to also covering spanish. There's a market!

I've been playing on and off since ARR, and this is the first thread that got me to actually post a reply on the forums although I've read many before. Yes, please to a Spanish translation!

This initiative is especially timely because of the subject of the next expansion. Dawntrail takes so much inspiration from Central & South America, and it's sad that many players from places that inspired the game will not be able to play it without a language barrier.

I'm an English-speaking player myself, but if a Spanish translation and/or dub was available, I would use it too. I have used TV shows and music to learn Spanish and found it really gratifying. There's a market for a Spanish translation even outside Spanish-speaking countries!

It is a shame that the game at this stage is not translated into Spanish with how big and active the Spanish-speaking community is, especially considering how important the narrative is in this game.

The only thing we ask for is to be able to play the game in our language, it doesn't seem far-fetched considering that we pay a subscription of 13 dollars a month.
