Best compromise would be variants or toggles for armor. With and without capes and or other major doodads like oversized floating shoulders.Capes are the primary reason I swapped from miqo'te to viera
I wasn't a big fan of how they're done in the first place (being sneaky skirts)
But the fact they either just have an implied tail hole in a garment meant to be very mobile and flowy, or, gods forbid, delete literally half your character's SPINE is just a dealbreaker for me >.<
wish they would at least compromise and give us half capes on the races with tails. :T
Obviously all we can do is speculate, but I would be incredibly surprised if they ever added actual physics to skirts, as the game would be flooded with an unprecedented additional variety of upskirt behaviors.
Same I would honestly rather just not have one at this point.
Lalafell standig under Miqo'te's skirt and looking up is a thing since female Miqo'te and their Starting Set were introduced.
Can't get creepier than that.
I don't want to be mean to you because you are playing a Lala. It's just a fact.

the devs forgot about non-human ears and tails; so there's tons of clipping still & forever going to be unless people really make an effort to call out the devs
We were gonna have this, and then PS3 happened.
Cape physics? WHAT IS THIS?We were gonna have this, and then PS3 happened.
pray ps4 is old yellered and next big change is an overhaul of physics interactionWe were gonna have this, and then PS3 happened.
I could understand if we didn't have any tailed races until later, like the Aura and Hrothgar.
But seeing how Miqo'te has been in the game from the very beginning it surprises me how little effort they've put into making armor/outfits to fit tails as well without clipping.
Some clipping can't be avoided. But major ones like capes and other stuff.
I once had a lalafell following me and looking up my skirt. I asked if he was jealous because mine is bigger. He did a /horror emote and ran away.
