    To be fully honest I don’t know if it’s the same design as the old optional crits you could reduce with awareness or if some enemies simply do autos that are 200% stronger than regular autos but it functionally achieves the same thing, they are dangerous, spike damage constantly requiring upkeep and should be targeted first above all others

    Awareness existed to prevent critical hits until it was removed in Shadowbringers, which leads to to believe there were crits in Stormblood.

    Sage has failed to live up to the fantasy of a sci-fi DPS healer. Please change this for 8.0. Make Sage fast, exciting, and aggressive. It should feel like a healer that plays like a DPS. Empower the aspects of Sage's unique healing mechanics: Kardia and Eukrasia to give its healing playstyle more identity.

    Oh I know what awareness did I just mean that now that it doesn’t exist do those mobs still actually crit or do they just do massive auto damage like say the bull in the second pull after the first boss in holminster, he doesn’t crit he just does massive autos

    Stuffs from old dungeon—specifically pre ShB ones still crits AND dodgeable occasionally. Everything beyond that seem to be made 100% hit rate with no crit variance.

    So do you folks think fights in other games aren't scripted? And thats a valid reason for why healers should have half their time be a task wholly antithetical to the stated purpose of the role?

    This is why the devs do what they do. I can't even believe the stuff I see here sometimes.

    WOW specifically has a GCD 2.5x the speed of ours and randomly whacks players near constantly, so you are both responding to random damage and can do it a lot faster

    14 never does damage that can’t be predicted ahead of time and our GCD is ungodly slow, the amount of damage can 100% be tuned up but not enough that we can avoid doing anything but heal because 14 does not include “scripted randomness” because it doesn’t work with the slow GCD and animation

    I love being told to 'just play DPS' when for the umpteenth times since time immemorial, SE have specifically refused to increase HPS requirement. Despite that it's been an on-going wish alongside the 'more dps'-wishes. But I guess people just gloss over the 'more healing' and just want to laser focus on 'more dps' comments. "Read your tooltip" certainly didn't extend well enough to "Read the room/thread", just another day in the forum.

    I mean I get it---it'll take a while to read 300+ pages plus every other existing healer thread. Still.. /smh

    Nah, the reason is because there needs to be time for accommodating mistakes and imperfect players. Feel free to plug in some numbers and do the math.

    Adaptive difficulty is what I see that can somehow address the issue. If an "AI" is monitoring how good the party is doing, the dungeon/boss will adjust, i.e. healer HPS is somewhat low resulting to very good dodging from everyone, more raidwides or tank busters. Likewise, if the party is doing poorly, it will also be forgiving... Sounds like The Director eh?
