That's what I'm saying, but there were people arguing it would be significantly later.

Reason I was thinking July/August was SE saying that they were still working on it and didn't want to give us a date till they knew. I just assumed they still had a bit of work they needed to do and it would take longer to complete. Always happy to learn that they in fact are releasing it on time.

They did though. That was just a recap.

so more time could be given to getting upgrades done cause 2-3 months is kind of cutting it close imo if finances hadn't already been allocated towards it already.

Realistically they were always going to aim for the 2060 though. A card that's been out a while, reasonably priced, other cards before it sometimes had similar specs.

What about a PS CE???

It's the same thing, for Playstation, you would just order the collector's physical box by itself and then get the appropriate edition you want via the Playstation store.

The amount of people I've seen so far saying they'll need to upgrade their PCs to meet recommended is alarming tbh. I'll have to make a few tweaks as well. Kind of wish they had pushed specs out months ago so more time could be given to getting upgrades done cause 2-3 months is kind of cutting it close imo if finances hadn't already been allocated towards it.

The amount of people I've seen so far saying they'll need to upgrade their PCs to meet recommended is alarming tbh.

Anyone who has to upgrade their PC is either running a pretty old PC or shooting for high frame rates and/or high resolution.

For example, I'd been running FFXIV at 4K on an i7-6700 and a GTX1080 until recently, and it ran fine at about 60fps.
That's a 8 year old GPU and a 9 year old CPU, so of course an upgrade from that will be needed.

The new recommended specs are also for pretty old components: the i7-7700 was launched in 2017, and the GTX 2060 in 2019; and the latter was a mid-range component when it launched.

TBH a 1080 is gonna stomp a 2060, but your 6700 is going to need to be upgraded if for no other reason than windows not supporting it sometime in 2025.

You do realize it's the min spec based on average consumers pc specs that determines the bottom of hardware requirements for cross platform titles? That even with these upgraded requirements, min spec PCs supported for playing XIV, will still be less powerful than a standard PS4?
