We didn't need them before to clear content, We don't need them now. The bar is set at " Don't Die & Press buttons " and I don't think this will change. I'm not against DPS meters, but if you think we need them to clear content? I highly advice revisiting the striking dummy to the point your favorite Job's rotation becomes muscle memory to remove thinking about your rotation to execute mechanics more flawlessly, mhm.

What we have works well for what it is, we don't need layers of additional data management for game content that people can properly function in and clear normally by learning.
You're correct that it's not a need to clear content.

It is needed if you're trying to analyze your performance for the sake of self-improvement and trying to figure out how to get that little bit of extra DPS where actual low damage is what's causing the party to fail a DPS check instead of mechanics failures lowering damage. Having them as an option would be helpful. Again, the community shouldn't be punished for wanting a tool because a few will abuse. Punish the abusers instead.

There's a surprising number of players that have no clue the enmity indicators exist. They're off by default when you first create a character. They're also not that well designed for reading at a quick glance.

I don't think he is adding enrage into story mode, so l don't see whydps meter is needed. Also, you can see from aggro list on who is lacking. I tried blm on 90 normal raid, and my aggro is lower than a sage, LOL. so l know l blowed hard on that job. Even more simple, if a dps kept dying, then you can see that dps didn't pull their weight.

Isn't ACT enough? Everyone and their raider grandma uses it. It even parses people that don't consent to it.

There's a reason it's not in the game - it's not necessary. I cannot think of any single duty with such a strict DPS requirement that it is necessary to look at the minute details.

We don't need DPS meters. It already exists if you want it. It's completely irrelevent. You can see who is doing damage in the party list. Just look at aggro numbers.

As for the increased stress Yoshi is talking about, it will be nothing like you expect. It's going to be very minor as most of the 14 community is casual and you can't scare them away as they pay the bills. At best we will get harder hitting mechanics and maybe generous enrage timers.

Absolutely no one is expecting players to all turn into superstars. Don't get your hopes up.

The aggro list isn't a replacement for DPS meters btw. It says nothing for tanks/healers and to an extent, DPS as well since if one dies, down to the bottom of the aggro list you go.

I personally don't use act because it's a mod and against TOS. If it's implemented into the game though I would gladly use it.

As long as they don't add full fight logs and keep it a personal DPS meter, I see no harm in that. Again though, as stated before, we don't NEED it. Would be nice though.

How are there still people out there stating that?

I'm all for personal DPS meters. I wouldn't call it a necessity, but I think it would help some people improve. Throw in personal healing meters too.

The Legends of the Titanmen lives on, a shining example of the power of compassion and the ability of people to make a difference in the world. A reminder that even in the darkest of times, there is always hope, as long as there are heroes like the Titanmen who dare to do good deeds in Eorzea.

The problem with healing meters is that it doesn't actually tell you anything about how well you're playing if it doesn't differentiate between effective healing and overhealing, because as you get better at judging how much you need to heal it will naturally go down.

If SE developed their own personal healing meters I'm assuming it would display both effective healing and overhealing. At least I would hope that SE has the sense to design it that way.
