Problem is, that's pretty much how my experience with rescues are. I kept being rescued for no reason whatsoever and most of them kills me. Most healers do not realize that rescue does not made the rescued immune. So when you are being dragged, you are literally dragged into those aoes. I have been pingpong by healers before as a blm just to troll me lol. Rescue PTSD is definitely real, especially when most of the rescues, with goodwill or not, 90% of the times do kill you.

I feel that you have just had bad luck with it but are also exaggerating the issue. It's a very useful and powerful skill, but certainly does have the trolling power potential. I'd honestly be interested in seeing the chat logs of when this ping pong stuff happens. Like how exactly do you respond every time you get rescued? I use the skill regularly and can still count on one hand the amount of times I've caused the person a problem in doing so, but I have seen so many people ignore it completely and just go back to where they were, only to die right away. If you're getting rescued a lot, I would recommend taking a look at your gameplay and ask yourself "What am I doing that makes people want to use this on me so much?"

So I was thinking about going RDM for a bit, but got distracted by my cat going on a rampage and forgot to change class before queuing for trial roulette. Well, shouldn't be an issue, right?

Emerald Weapon. On the big knockback right before the phase change, five out of eight players get tossed. Leaving me on MCH, a WAR, and a PAL. Whoops.

We carry the party through the fight anyway. Never seen it live long enough to cast a second Image of the Black Wolf before.

Somebody whispered this to me as soon as I got out of a Euphrosyne run with them. What a nice thing to say! I have no idea what I did to earn that though, lol. I was just a random DPS and did pretty well most of the raid, but certainly not perfect. Anyway, thankyou little lala, for your kind words. I did have a good day, because your message made my day! I hope you have a good day too!

Bruh why do I keep getting SGEs in level 90 roulettes that don't do damage and just spam e. diagnosis? It's happened twice now, completely different people. I don't play anything but WAR in roulettes, so it's not like a danger or anything, but it is annoying that I'm having to heal up the whole team with Nascet with any aoe damage comes out because they're going to slow heal the entire team with e. diagnosis one person at a time while not doing any damage.

Halfway into the duty the Scholar gear breaks so everything 1 shots them.
Had to set up macros for spread, stack, don't move, get behind boss.
Run out of time. Painful healing experience but at least they all learned the fight.

Leveling roulette on sam since I'm in need of taking a break from being a healer.

Get Holminster Switch, rest of party is DRK SGE BLM.

SGE is VERY new to SGE, but seems to have some competence at their job.

DRK single pulls the first wall, sees our UlTrA MeGa ChOnK dps is chewing up mobs. Somehow doesn't mitigate much and kind of survives the pulls.

Second wall opens up, DRK guns it.

SGE is panic healing the DRK with Diagnosis, DRK doesn't handle his mitigations very well including Living Dead, or barely at all, we wipe. Back to single pulling.

DRK apologizes, still doesn't seem to handle mits very well, but we clear the first boss.

DRK continues to gun it with the first wall after the first boss. He barely survives it with the SGE dumping everything along with panic healing.

Second wall, SGE gets overwhelmed again with trying to sustain the DRK who doesn't still seem to have much of a good idea on how to rotate their mits.

SGE also panic heals him through Living Dead via Diagnosis spam, causing it to fail to proc. Living Dead expires.

DRK become ded. We wipe. DRK then says he had Living Dead on, SGE pipes up with them still not comfortable with the class.

I politely point out that his LD expired. More than likely he popped it far too soon in the pull.

DRK gets annoyed with me and says he got somehow healed and it failed.

GEE I WONDER WHY.

We somehow get to the second boss and clear, onward to the gated trash!

SGE gets eated due to the DRK not using their AoEs to heroically pull mobs off of them, and they turn to munch on my face, I somehow live before the DRK decides to use AoEs.

PSA: Your AoEs save lives, tanks. Do your job.

SGE respawns and returns just in time to save the DRK, and we continue on to the boss.

We somehow clear, and the DRK makes one last jab at me over my comment about him being healed out of Living Dead and it 'ticking off instead of healing him'. before instantly leaving, preventing any kind of rebuttal.

I have my doubts he realizes when Living Dead is supposed to be used, but he left the SGE feeling like shit. I server hop over and tell the SGE they're awesome and to have a great day and some encouragement.

This was my experience while leveling SGE with a DRK when EW first launched. It was the one tank I disliked healing. The others were fine. But DRK was pucker time.

It got better at 90 but it was fairly stressful leveling up.

It's a bit off topic, but sometimes I miss closed servers. Oh, I know for a fact that I wouldn't have the patience to wait in the queues, or even go hunting for players as was necessary to form a group. With today's MMORPG traffic, automated queues and the interserver are more than necessary. ... But the fact of recognizing someone at random, running into a tank you know is good, making up with another player with whom you had a fight a week ago over trifles... I kind of miss it sometimes.

Yesterday I babysat a very new lalafel tank in a 90s dungeon. I'm not going to lie, it's always a bit surprising to have players who struggle as much as the basics (in this case, using AOEs as tanks) at max level. How did you get here, my brave fellows? The fact remains that, despite this surprise.... He was "cute", the bugger. Full of good intentions and the desire to do well, and above all delighted to receive advice. The two dps were patient, neither of them trying to pull (thank you), while I explained to him how to go about it. He congratulated me several times on my healing, but I didn't have the heart to tell him that in a dungeon, it's quite normal not to struggle too much after a while. But between that and our small talk, it made the run pleasant. They improved markedly towards the end, learning to put his cd def, use AOEs and then prioritize when necessary. I'd love to meet them again, to see if they've managed to grow in confidence.


On the topic's more usual tone (very minor "problems", just my rant) : holy cow stop healing like bullies in raids. I KNOW it's annoying to always spam the same dps button; but when the regen effect has been applied by your cohealer, it's pointless (except in special cases) to spam heal AOEs to put everyone full life. Let the regen effect work when it's applied, and don't spam medica II afterwards. Worst of all, it's not really their fault: the game is designed in such a way that healers are constantly stepping on each other's toes in the majority of content, because only one heal should be needed. But how annoying it is to see all your efforts washed away by a useless overheal.

Likewise, RDMs, I KNOW you're trying to do the right thing; but really, leave the rez to us when the raid doesn't turn into a disaster. You're lowering your dps, and that's not your job. No, you're not helping: I've already cast my swift cast, and now it's ruined. Look around you, see if the healer seems to be struggling (lack of mana, too many people on the ground?), and then you can rez. If it's just the player who's been taking all the mechanics since the start of the instance who's dead, don't worry: we've already got an eye on him, so concentrate on your job. Remember, dps is just as important as tanking and healing, so don't turn your back on it.

Technically a tale from party finder not duty finder but here we go.

A few weeks ago I was farming Zeromus mount (still the only EW trial mount I'm missing). Got in a new party.
First pull. Wipe to one Tank failing the meteors. Np, can happen.
Second pull. The other Tank wipes us. (I don't remember how though).
Instead of getting salty I went with a humorfull response and typed. "If I had a Gil for everytime a tank wiped us...I had 2 Gil. Which isn't much, but it's strange it happened twice."
Everyone, including the tanks, laughed.
One of the tanks responded:"Let's see how rich you become." xD
Me:"I plan to be a Gillionare by end of the day...btw...who of you is going to pay me?"
Again, everyone laughed. By end of the day be had more wipes than kills.
Was it an effective farm? Hell no.
Did we have a fun time? You bet!^^
