Cough* Demon souls *Cough*. That game was a freaking HIT, and it digested you.
All and all games are meant to be fun not kick you in the teeth every 20 secs. That scares ppl away and why ffxi was huge.
I said my stuff about what SE said so they maybe you shouldn't complain if something is less time consuming. Since it was known ahead of time that was the direction the game was going in.
you mean clicking on blood pools and watching how other ppl die is hard? >.> ok. sorry I looked that game up. it gives you visual aids as your progressing the linear map based on the other players online. By watching blood pools to see how they died or seeing their soul fade in and out of your game. Sorry but to me thats not really that hard. I can prob beat that game ina week if I wanted to play it.

Demon's souls uses a lot of psychology to make the game seem more difficult than it actually is, which isnt a bad thing. But I mean there isnt a correlation between difficulty curve and sales, its that demon's souls is a well made thought out game. It certainly didnt get good sales off of its marketing campaign.
while demon's souls really brought the hammer down on players it did realize that it had to be forgiving at times. Giving you an opportunity to get all your lost souls back, letting you work as a blue phantom to come back to life, summoning blue phantoms to help you through stages, the ability to learn from other people's mistakes, and get hints from other players. Everything was carefully weighed and designed that while difficult even a moderate or casual could get into it. Really the death penalty of losing all your souls was designed like that so people wouldnt just dump all of their souls into one stat and would instead spend them at every opportunity they got.
