What's the point for $50m Gil to do the Cloud beta test if you can't keep it?

It's to watch people realize how inflation in this economy works when they see 50m and think they're rich, followed by going to the marketboard to buy a 1mil Glamour Prism when there's no supply and everyone's wearing lv 80 tomestone gear.

More realistically, it's to incentivize spending through various means from NPCs without being gatekeeped from lack of funding to continue testing the various mechanics and ways on the datacenter.

Even though I did create a character on the Cloud beta & bought some items with the $50m Gil, what is the point when the character & everything purchased including the $50m Gil will be deleted? I definitely misunderstood Yoshi when he said he would give $50m Gil. I thought that it was a reward given to my main character in my main world for creating a new character & playing on the Cloud beta.

The 50 mil is so we don't have money issues- except I've had to funnel 4 additional alts of money into my main cloud char for a large house and all the gil mounts lmao.

Exactly. That's what I was trying to convey in my post. Giving $50m GIL that you can't keep; buying mounts, food, gears, etc that you can't keep & will be deleted once the beta test is done, poured cold water on my plans to play on the cloud. To give that much gil on my actual character would have been more of an incentive to go on the cloud beta.

It's not unusual that playtests give people free currency so that they can try things out.
And it's not unusual that the testers don't get a "reward" for testing.

All I can say is, this really stinks of entitlement.
