What I'd really like to see is the option to bid on any available houses of a certain size. For example, if there are 3 mediums available on my server the menu should allow me to check a box next to all 3 of them since I don't care about location. That way I'd at least feel like I have a chance instead of pointlessly going through the motions every bidding round.

It's pretty disheartening being on Balmung and more populated realms. Nearly every bidding cycle it's 40+ people bidding on smalls. I've seen quite a few times where newly boosted sprouts with only one class at 80 have won houses over people who have been playing since legacy, 2.0, and beyond. It's a system that's still being abused in a way that it isn't intended to be. The whole "just transfer realms" isn't an answer either, most of us have been on Balmung and such since the beginning, it's home for us. Like the OP I've entered every housing cycle and have yet to win one. Call it bad luck or whatever, but something needs to be changed. Lock character creation/transfer down, improve it so that you can't boost a character and immediately bid on a house to better your odds, open more wards for higher pop realms. As it is now, it's not acceptable.

The reason that Balmung and Mateus get taken off Congestion now is because Balmung and Mateus players complain how stale things are when there are no new players joining the population.

Many of us have mentioned the same thing about making the number of wards dynamic based on world population but evidently SE has built the world servers to be mirrors of each other (other than the actual players) down to the number of wards. They're not going to add 6 new wards to every world when only a small number of worlds would fill those wards.

The housing system has never been acceptable so nothing new there. It's been flawed from the start but rather than leaving the original wards to the FC only design and adding a new system for personal, they've been trying to make the FC design work for both.

That is going to work against you. Lets say they do this. The amount of bids are going to skyrocket on every plot because you lowered the barrier to entry even further and its even easier to bid on plots. Sure that option works for you..But if the option was only implemented for you and noone else...

i wouldn't mine bidding on more then one plot , since your chance of winning is like 1% anyway and you have to wait a week to get the results unless you what to be the last bidder , and if you got the Gil to bid on that many houses

but allowing everyone to have a chance the reason they put the lotto system in first place so everyone can bid on a plot with out lose out because they have real lives to attend to , with the clicking option in one week i could be clicking on up to 4 to 5 plots and lose my mine every time i lost. now we got this system that you got to make sure you want this plot and you cant cancel if you bid on it

To a system of placard clickers competing with about 3-5 players willing to put up with that annoying process to get one for up to 16 hours a day. To now compete against anyone who wants that specific house which can 0-60+ bids. To then having to bid literally against an entire server if they are aware and wanting a house.... At this point you are actually making the situation worse for yourself as you are asking to potentially be bidding against 500+ players per house.

i did say i liked the clicking system more , but this system having a chance to bid on more i would like to , even if was 0.50% that 0.50% on multiple houses , if you have the gil , instead on just 1 plot for 1%

I got my small under the clicking system and still think it was better then the lotto because it kept fair-weather players out. That said I would be fine with allowing you to put in as many bids on a house that you can afford....so if you want 10 bids on a 50m large...pay 500m. If you win you lose 500m - would go a long way to helping dump gil out of the economy.

I still remeber Balmung lock down years back. RP community thought it was the end of the world.
