    They need to rework Tank/healers

    Imo what can they even add to those jobs in 7.0? More defensives on tank? Do they really need that?? More heals on healers?? like seriously where does the design from EW even go?

    DPS needs more soft reworks, everyone having 2minute raid buffs should be yeeted

    I don't see it happening, but I wouldn't mind if some playstyles got replicated across roles so that a fan of BLM might enjoy a theoretical turret-caster WHM with long cast times and a ticking buff timer that has to be maintained. Or an elementalist tank (*cough* Mystic Knight *cough*) similar to an inverse RDM that wants to build up 2 magic bars in melee range before going into a big magic burst. We don't fully need 20+ different playstyles, but if there's some shared gameplay elements, we could at least switch up the roles. Of course, they should still differ in their damage rotations in meaningful ways, but it's not the end of the world if they share a core style and ask something silly like "what if RDM was a tank?"

    This is what I meant, as I am referring specifically to individual job design rather than the universal quality of life that they have recently implemented. No one wants the return to TP, Accuracy caps, broken combos or the strict combo window again.

    Absolutely yes please.

    Unless they want people to no longer be able to progress MSQ on healers it can not get worse than they are now.

    No new dmg but less oGCDs? Finally get to use gcd healing again regularly.

    New dmg tools and less oGCDs? Probably not gonna happen even in a rework but would lead to a lot more variety in GCD spells used.

    More dmg abilities and same amount of oGCDs? At least now there's Something to do in the time no healing is required than nuke Spam.

    Effectivly no change despite a rework? Meh but not worse at least.

    this would probably be the most apocalyptic scenario I can possibly think of, personally speaking. unless the development team actually made an active effort to fully communicate what they would be planning to do with jobs with the intentions of undoing the damage ShB and EW caused to job design, I would otherwise absolutely quit the game. and I'm speaking as someone who's not even on the Dawntrail make-or-break train or even planning on quitting the game even if 7.X happens to be worse than Endwalker.

    Best case? Proceed on with ShB 3.0. design and give an “expedience-tier” surprise buttons that we can press once every 3-5 minutes.

    Worst case? Proceed on with ShB 3.0. design and do nothing about it.

    Bonus point: asks the community to give feedback on what they’ve done then radio silence till 8.0.

    If EW took a step back from SHB design and did something in-between stormblood/SHB I think the combat system would be in a good state, I don't mind some ease of access, the tank stance changes? fine but give us something else, instead tanks have been made even easier? DID we really need that? Healers don't need More healing spells, they have more then enough they hardly even heal in content anymore. Its not like they're replacing things they're just removing things a lot of the time.

    Dawn trial NEEDS to take a step back from EW design at least, I highly doubt that DT will take the right step considering every rework we've gotten this expansion every change we've gotten seems to want to put jobs further and further into the same box, doubling down on the hyper 2 minute burst then do nothing until burst comes back sort of gameplay that we have currently.

    Not to mention how bosses have been made easier to position, hit boxes are the size of the moon It's easier to balance uptime and positional if the boss is the size of the moon and the tank never needs to move it for the melees, but it sure ain't as fun for melees or tanks just another teamwork aspect gone and made easier, I could go on and on about how many changes have just made a lot of people feel less and less like the design wants People to have anything interesting to do...

    I'm not saying we have to go back to old designs, but looking at the current design of playing it safe on everything is actually just making the game worse, I don't even remember the last time I liked a change in general.

    Theirs genuinely a lot of issues with the combat in general that must be fixed, otherwise players will slowly quit overtime due to how uninspired it has become for them.

    My reaction? There are going to be a lot of really bad jobs.

    Do I think jobs would come out better? They don't have the staff to do a full rework of every battle job at the same time unless they do a rushed and sloppy job. That's why they generally pick a handful to do and make minor changes to the rest.

    You would also get those very attached to job identity angry since any full rework may change it.

    Given the Nu summoner rework that's a terrifying prospect.

    With that being said, I can't say that I absolutely love any of the jobs in their current iteration. Even jobs that didn't get weird changes like Machinst aren't really attracting me like they used to. So the worst a full rework could do is put the final nail in the coffin while the best it could do is revitalize my love for that part of the game.

    Just dunno if I want to flip that coin.

    Currently only 2 jobs have been confirmed for reworks in 7.0, Ast and Drg, originally slated with 6.X but got pushed back with the focus of Pld changes. That being said, I wouldnt be surprised if other jobs end up getting a heavy trim down of skills, theyll be pushing out Xbox, so likely move jobs to be more controller friendly. As for fanfest, dont expect much if any detailed info on any job changes, they usual dont give out much until just before expansion launch...
