Alliance Raid Now iLvl Locked, Why??

I don't unlock Ivalice on my alt not because it was difficulty or long, it's because I don't feel I'm compensated for doing it. And until that sentiment of mine change, neither you nor the dev will be able to force me into anotther Ivalice raid.

Dunno I play this game for fun. All roulettes rewards are useless for me, since I don't have EW content unlocked.
I can run 70 level alliances for free, just because they are kinda fun to run. But when I am running some zero brain 50 level alliance, I feel like I am wasting time, coz its not fun in all possible ways.

Both false. ilvl scales from ur current level, don't fake news. No one was doing Alliance before too, coz getting CT raid is annoying, now we lost "low-item-level-abusers" but get other players instead.

Why didn't they just make it require the item level of the highest unlocked alliance raid duty?

The game is old and very limited in order to change/add something, adding direct ilvl(player_level) function check is more ez, than also adding unlocked raids in this function. Plus this way devs are blocking u from abusing CT raid for leveling past 60 level.

Bear in mind: all roulettes were implemented NOT to level you in first place, but to HELP other people to find party in duty finder.

Blame the Ilvl cheesers for this, who forced ct, via ilvl cheesing. They ruined it for everybody else and sadly the solution to it has hit innocent, but would never have been needed if they didn't ilvl cheese

Yes I so loved getting CT and my 3 buttons to spam. That's such riveting experience, why bother with the other alliances that are so much more fun amirite.

I want to like this change, but I just don't find any of the Alliance raids the least bit fun. The closest I got to genuinely liking one was World of Darkness, but that parade got thoroughly rained on many years ago. Other than that, pretty much all the entertainment I've been able to derive from any of them was the result of being grouped with people so lacking in situational awareness it made one wonder if their breathing required conscious effort. After all, there comes a point where having your time wasted by wipes switches from annoying to just outright hilarious due to sheer volume and the causes thereof.

I'm probably one the few that didn't mind getting CT in the roulette. It's nice getting old gear and items from it for me personally, If I now get other raids too great so be it. Also its not that difficult too unlock the raids for each x-pack. I would say time consuming, same for gearing you can get crafted gear to meet the Ilvl req now if needed.

I don't understand how so many keep saying this is working as intended?

A player who finished Endwalker, geared to the appropriate level 90 who only unlocked CT will be able to queue Alliance Roulette and will get CT.

A player who overleveled and hasn't completed Endwalker, (or whatever other expansion they are, level 80 but still in SB etc.) cannot queue for any Alliance Roulette at all, despite having multiple raids unlocked and appropriate gear to complete any of those raids.

How is this working as intended? How does it stop ilvl cheesing? I could go buy a boost for an alt, get 560whatever gear it is, unlock one raid and just queue for it, but a main character can't queue for all the raids because their gear is below the defined gear for level 90? Even though they're not in level 81-90 content at all yet?

You know if you're lvl 90 you can purchase ilvl gear from MB right? No tomestones needed. The iulvl 600 stuff is like 30k each...

You can also complete every raid up to ShB in cryptlurker gear, so why buy gear off the MB?

If you think ilvl cheesers were actually responsible for most of the CT runs then you're frankly deluding yourself. The number of new characters, characters levelling a job below 60, and characters that just haven't unlocked all the raids combined is going to be orders of magnitude more than the number of characters that were actively ilvl cheesing. They just make an obvious scapegoat because sometimes they were blatant about it and they're actively doing something bad while none of those other cases are. In reality this is going to have nowhere near the huge impact some people seem to think it will, because all it takes is one character in any of those other groups to put 23 other people in CT, just as all it took was one ilvl cheeser. They're still going to be the most common raid by far, so... congratulations I guess.

Stopping them from cheesing is good, but they've chosen one of the worst possible ways they could have made that change. Tying it to which raids you have unlocked would have been so much better, that would probably be the best possible solution (assuming you don't want to make the raids mandatory to progress MSQ to stop people just not unlocking them, which they clearly don't) and while they might adjust based on feedback about this affecting people negatively through no fault of their own I don't hold out that much hope. This problem should have been easily forseeable, it was obvious to a lot of us as soon as we read the patch notes that it was going to screw certain players over.

Someone suggested crafting your own gear, but even that still involves going to the marketboard or asking a friend to get the materials, because you also can't reach the zones to get the mats to make the gear, just like you can't reach the content to farm or buy the gear. There's literally nothing else in the game that expects you to gear for your level rather than your current MSQ progress, in fact the commonly given advice is "don't worry about buying better gear because you don't need it until the game gives it to you anyway", so it's absurd that we now have this case where someone HAS to go buy overpriced crafted gear from old expansions just to be able to keep doing a roulette with their friends.

I also want to point out, if you hit 70 on Free Trial very early then you have literally no way to get the gear the roulette expects of you. Can't trade, can't use the MB, can't craft it yourself until you have access to the appropriate zones. You're just totally locked out.

Not everyone wants to level or play another job, not everyone has other jobs left to level. Those are also not solutions.
