Macha Maudegonne:
Modeless Green Tea
No Mode Macha
*name is truly intended as a .hack//reference (Morganna Mode Gone/Maudegonne and the cat, Macha) and to an ancient Irish goddess of war.*
I like my pun-stuffed name, thanks.
I like it, it gives your character more personality, unless you just do a random "whatever" name.
I will admit I disliked having to choose a surname at first. I am usually a one-name kinda guy. But it's grown on me. The only thing I dislike about it now is the /tell system. But that can easily be fixed when they add a /sea system.
1) Looking for someone named Edgar somethingyoudontrememberwell
2) Type /sea all Edgar
3) Recognize the Edgar you're looking for
4) Click on Edgar's name and select "Tell"
There, no having to type long and ridiculous names. Just make it so you can click and tell.
That tingling sensation is probably just indigestion. I picked Dreamer for the forums because there's the possibility that an alt (if I ever create one) will become my main in the future. It was independent of my in-game character name.
And for the record, I would my prefer my character be named Chloe Ardarose rather than Dreamer OR just Chloe.![]()
Tbh, I like the Sirnames. They give a uniqueness to your caracter. I dislike the idea of "optional" Sirnames. The first reason is the fact that it removes half the point of the sirnames. To stop players being called (lame examples) "bloodkiller", moving to "blooodkiller", to "BlooodkillerxX" etc
Also, The argument that people feel "forced" to pick a Sirname is a mute point. Until now, other MMO's have forced people NOT to have Sirnames, due to only having the first name as an option. For this fact, I think it is completely fair and reasonable to have one MMO which impliments Sirnames as standard

I dont mind Surnames all too much, and if it could be an option, I could support that.
One reason i love having surnames is because it spawns much more thought and creativity. Nuru Sanura is my name, it means "Kitten, Born in the Sun" in Egyptian. I've always loved the name, Nuru. When I heard about surnames for FFXIV, I immediately began searching for a last name that would go well with Nuru.
It doesn't really get in the way unless you really just face slam the keyboard for a surname.
define successfull. The lengh of time cannot determine success, this game has been out for less than a year, so of course cannot be determined via time to it's earlier counterpart for example.Other, more successful MMOs.
I imagine you will quote playerbase/subscriptions. I would very much like to see ACTUALL figures. These figures of course, in line with the games age. I dont want to see an example of Wow as it is now in your comparison. Give me the subscriptions of Wow when it was six months old, and the subscriptions of FFXIV as it is today.
You brought up the word successfull, now please back that claim up with evidence
OK, Rift and FFXI.
