    Hm...interesting perspective.

I guess it depends on what "veteran" is in this context. Criterion Savage was supposed to be the sorta-answer to Mythic dungeons in WoW as high end content as well. But that's if we mean more hardcore players. I'm not really sure what you'd mean by veteran here, since if it just means people who have been with the game for a while, a lot of additions could be argued to be for their benefit. Island Sanctuary, additional Glamour Chest space, etc etc.

Is the game dead/dying? Nupe, not even remotely, still one of the top mmos world wide (it'll prolly take something like another Massive mmo release to really dent FFXIV, Jp would certainly jump onto something like Riots mmo for example.) But seems like a lot of players want to use "dead game" to justify leaving and really if FFXIV is just no fun for you it is perfectly fine to unsub and leave, the game has for sure changed and for a lot of long time players, for the worst, and unfortunately there just has not been any real sense, notification, anything really from the devs or Yoshi P that they see whats happening...
Honestly, I think this is the best take.

Instead of lying to yourself and using hyperbole to convince others to join you for validation or something, if you genuinely don't enjoy a thing, it may be time to walk away. Whether that's a vacation or a perma life decision, whatever's best for the individual. This is probably the most mature approach to it all.
