Emoting is always used in a negative malicious way. It needs to go, it's the same reason why we are limited to quick chat messages. Please implement a system that blocks emotes of any kind because intentionally trying to make someone angry is gross. Who would want to spread that kind of energy in the first place?

I dunno that they could ever fully remove that capability from players. They turned off the usage of items like the Heavens cracker and Realm-reborn Red (party popper ������ and champagne ������), and even direct chats, but if they got rid of emotes too ( which you also currently won't see the message for) players could still jump or use attacks on you or whatever.

Maybe it's a good thing, but they've at the very least make pretty serious strides into the territory you're discussing, in case you were unaware.

Like, players from all games have always used whatever's at their disposal to be jerks, way back from like teabagging in early FPS games...

The only way to combat it really is through reporting, but they don't have the inclination or budget to fully support PvP with moderation. Least of all because they seem to do it based on chat messages and now emotes don't appear in chat...

idk it's not even about thicker skin it's like....
are they doing any real world damage to you physically or?

i think it's worth looking at how much power they actually have over your ability to play and enjoy the game when you give them little to no attention.

please take advantage of the report systems in the game if people are going at you like that and making you feel uncomfortable, but I don't think a few bad apples should spoil the bunch.

also an aside from the typing thing being taken away, i would rather not have someone stand still pressing no globals to type something that a preset message can do reasonably (sadly quick chat now is lacking and needs to be expanded despite the benefit I listed.)

but like tl;dr don't give people power over you or your games when they really don't have it, and definitely don't feed into their decisions of how to "express" themselves, report and move on.
