It's not my fault I wanted to play on a populated world and square doesn't scale wards with server pop. The whole reason I refuse to give my alts house up is either I wait till the new expansion when there's only a few bids at most on smalls, or deal with what are usually hundreds of bids on them and lose what I got with no competition on the plot.

That's on you tho, not on SEIt's not my fault I wanted to play on a populated world and square doesn't scale wards with server pop. Dynamis is wide open with thousands of houses.

Blaming square enix for you wanting to play on the most populated server and not being able to get a house is really on you when you choose to play on a server with a high population. If people didnt care more about wanting to play on a server with high number and care so much about housing there are low pop servers with lots of housing still and can make use of datacenter travel. It's not my fault I wanted to play on a populated world and square doesn't scale wards with server pop. I was not criticizing where you choose to play or how many houses you own. Your argument is that "owning more than a few is unnecessary and greedy at best since there's only so many houses and someone who would utilize it looses out to another that owns many". That doesn't apply to the majority of servers anymore. Balmung players are notorious for portraying their high population server experience as the norm when it comes to housing and this thread is no exception. It's not my fault I wanted to play on a populated world and square doesn't scale wards with server pop. Let me show you what an fc ward looks like on a normal server that's been around since ARR. Does it look like people are being denied housing? I've had no neighbors for 7 months. On most servers there are enough fc houses that taking 1 or 8 or a whole damn ward has zero effect on the people looking for personals.

Choices come with consequences. You made your choice. Now you get to deal with the consequences. It's not my fault I wanted to play on a populated world and square doesn't scale wards with server pop. While I want to see the system improved, it's hard to be sympathetic with those who won't take the necessary action to get what they want. You could have had a house on Dynamis and still used data center travel to play on Balmung or Gilgamesh or whichever NA world caught your fancy.
You decided the house wasn't important enough to you.
In the meantime, I have a nice large on Marilith that I got with zero competition and I use data center travel when there's need (mostly to buy cheap crafting mats but occasionally for things like hunt trains). Unless the Xbox release swamps Dynamis with new players, I'm going to have a nice time at 7.0 launch playing the game while others are sitting in log-in queues.
Also you're dreaming if you think there will only be a few bids even on smalls when the expansion gets released. That's when the population explodes and demand for houses increases.
Everyone wants to come play on Balmung and then throw a fit when there's no available houses on the server. There's plenty of other servers to go get houses on and you can simply world visit balmung like all the other ERP tourists do.

I hope they split servers off of Crystal or Aether and put them on Dynamis as a way to spread the server load lol
Yeah, no. I'm not willing to have my server transferred to your DC just because your DC failed. There's a reason why they didn't do that this time. (unlike in the past with other new DCs) It absolutely sucks having your server moved.
Why don't we move Marilith to Aether then? Maybe we can give the others to Crystal/Primal. Just dissolve your entire dead DC lmao
(or maybe don't because that'd be just as stupid as moving a world to Dynamis in the first place)
