ANYONE DONE BLU YET?

It's a shame that we can't use Basic Instinct to tackle the weekly log objectives solo, because you only get credit with a full party. I mean, right now there's a lot of people in the party finder, but as time goes by that number will dwindle.

Other than that, I really liked the update. The storyline is pretty basic, but enjoyable regardless and the new spells are cool. I was looking forward to something replacing Moon Flute for dpsers, because I can't believe they consider spending whole 15 seconds doing nothing but running a good design.

Got to 80 on BLU done the Masked Carnival mission and then was very sad. How can they make such a good boss for Blue Mage but actual dungeon and raid bosses are absolute Junk Synchron., it had great layered mechanics, dps checks and forces players to use what they have learned to clear it. This is what dungeon bosses should be like.

Biggest problem with berserker is his stack marker you have to take solo, towards the end of the fight he starts to spam if fairly frequently. Diamondback makes the damage negligible but the mp drain from having to use diamondback so often means you’ll start to run out if you don’t kill him fast enough. Other than that he’s actually really simple, after he’s done with the two wild rages he just loops AoE, line AoE > stack marker.

Also just managed to solo phase one of the ruby weapon for ruby dynamics!

I was kind of worried about the dps check for the final optimised ultima but as long as you just let your big hitter spells come off CD before you push him into that phase you can clear it pretty comfortably. Shame that the spell itself looks like junk… I’m assuming it’s going to be used for some carnivale gimmick.

BLU is easily my favorite job, and this patch has been amazing for it.
Stage 32 was fun and challenging, and now we can PUNCH MONSTERS IN THE FACE

Maybe it is just me, but I really dislike the masked carnivale, because everytime I die, I'm thrown out of the instance, instead of the encounter just resetting. Such a minor issue, but having to slowly queue back in annoys me so much, that I stopped doing the carnivale entirely, except for whatever is mandatory for story progression >.<. It completely kills my interest for figuring things out for myself or practicing them.

This is my small little help for someone trying to get to 70 to 80 solo. I went and got open world spells and hit 71, you might not. Then I went to Tempest. With Chocobo out I sardined the leeches and fed them to the monsters. If you feed one of them three run like crazy they instant kill if get a hit off. I was able to chain 11 a few times. But generally it was 6. It took me just over 60 mins with food and all xp buffs. You could stop and do the Blue quests when you hit certain levels they have no fights till 80.

And even without that or other 'fast leveling tricks' it's still really fast. Took me around 3h of just killing mobs at my level and that just randomly running through the zones, without any planned route.
- Grab 3 or 4 mobs and Ram's Voice + Ultravibration
- When above is on cooldown, just run spamming Missile 2x + some fast cast actions takes around 10s every mob if both missiles hit

Couldn’t solo Titania, I managed to get to her add phase but then I have to kill all 3 of them while keeping myself alive (while one of them is using a tank buster) and doing enough damage fast enough to stop her gauge filling. If not for the gauge I could just focus on survival while my DoTs do the work, but as it is that add phase is a stumbling block.

Funny that such an early game boss is not doable yet an endgame boss like ruby weapon is…

Managed vauthry. I had a lot of echo for second phase, but that was just built up from my practice attempts and I didn’t want to do phase 1 again. It would have been plausibly doable with no echo as long as you really kept on top of mp management and fairly easily doable after 10% echo.

Might give Titania another attempt maybe with some echo built up the add phase could be manageable.

I paid a guy 50K for 30 minutes of his time as I went to Camp Bluefog and tossed fish at Bombs and then they one shotted the bomb. Got to 50, collected a few spells, and then I blew myself up in town once for funzies.

Not really touched it since.
