This one is beyond your help. Only sleep can save her now.
Not a healthy attitude most of the time, but I admit there seem to be a few players out there who deserve it once in a while. Case in point, this little weiner in my World of Darkness party yesterday...
First off, right after we load in I see this Reaper's HP bar pop up and he is not at full health. I assume this was because he was swapping into higher level gear after having cheesed the roulette. I also notice the gear they're wearing in their portrait doesn't match what they're actually wearing -- no headgear, no chest gear, etc. However I don't say anything, it's not going to make any difference and I can't prove anything. It also wasn't the sole reason we got stuck in Crystal Tower anyhow, as there was at least one actual first-timer in there with us.
I noticed a number of pulls, including bosses, that Reaper is running ahead in front of everyone and pulling first, not waiting for anyone. I don't know why they think a lone Reaper DPSing for a second or two early on their own is going to save much time on the run, nor how it is worth the risk of dying over it. But okay, if they want to f__k around and find out, go ahead.
We get to the final boss, and... well, he found out. Someone called out to the raid that we have new people and to please wait for the cutscene. Guess who ignores this request and immediately charges the boss on their own? Our little maniac Reaper.
Another player shouts "Reaper why?" No answer.
Then they die, and immediately respawn at the raid entrance so they no longer have to participate in the fight and we can't revive him.
I call out in raid chat: "Reaper, where did you go?" They do not respond, and they yeet themselves out of the raid the instant the boss is downed.
Thinking back on it in hindsight, I wonder if he was actually trying to get himself killed on every fight, just to respawn outside the arena and get carried without having to actually play?
Entered a Cinder Drift farm party. 30 seconds in, I watched three people die and the rest eat 2-4 vuln stacks because they couldn't do Helicoclaw. In a farm party.
I braced myself for the subsequent trouble after that.
Leveling Roulette: Tower of Zot. Zoned in as a SGE, paired with GNB, SAM, & first timer BLM.
Everything's going fine. GNB loses aggro a couple of times but nothing like the supplementary aoe heals from Kerachole, Physis II, & Panhaima couldn't handle until they took it back. It's whatever, duty was going at above average speed regardless.
Fast forward to after 2nd Boss, GNB just straight up refuse to pull bigger than a single pack. That singular magitek roader mob? Yeah, they just stick their gunblade at where the roader aggros them & no further.
That bored the $h!t out of me that I just turn off my brain & spam only Diagnosis with a finger without looking at my screen while I continue reading some fanfic on my phone with my free hand.
Yeah, I'm feeling petty today zzzz. If they ain't gonna put in the effort then neither will I.
I once had a white mage that missed a gcd during a dungeon boss and had a great run, didn't have to hyperventilate over it in one of the worst forums in existence.
Hey you told that joke already!
I hope you get those single pullers, class players, standing around to get carried and so forth. I hope you get a full set of 10 hours of ONLY such party members. Maybe then you will understand what a cooperative game is and that not participating is insulting to other people's time.
And about your joke: Did you ever read any post here? NO ONE CARES IF YOU MISSED 1 GCD IN DUTY FINDER!!!
We can make a crossworld party if you want. I just afk and you carry me trough everything. That's cool with you right?
Will put you on ignore if you can't form a logical argument but argue nonetheless
You do seem to be projecting a bit. Are you ok? Sharing stories about the good/bad/unexplainable things that we see in groups can actually be healthy. And if the idea of people sharing their experiences feels like an attack to you, maybe consider why that is?
Just a friendly reminder to healers in both expert and level 90 roulettes: tanks at that level don't need constant healing (they really don't need constant healing for anything past level 50). Please DPS more. I know this is nothing new, and you didn't sign up to DPS as a healer, but it makes a noticeable difference when the healer is not DPSing at all.
This really isn't aimed at sages, since they have to DPS to generate heals, so it's more aimed at the other healing jobs. What prompted this post was an expert dungeon I did a couple nights ago, where the WHM was just spam healing the tank - and the tank was a warrior! It got to the point where even the tank tried to say in a very friendly way "I've got this." Trying to give the WHM a hint that they didn't need to heal all that much.
But I've been seeing this more and more in expert dungeons. Just DPS. Especially if you're on WHM. I have that job at 90. One regen and med2 is all that's needed for the entire dungeon.
A SGE in Grand Cosmos who only used Eukrasian Dosis II to dps.
No, they did not put the DoT then AFK. They just spammed and overwrote the spell GCD after GCD.
Couple that with a freestyling RPR (why is it always RPRs in my runs lol), the run became such a slog I spent 34m in it. And I still have about 900 dungeon runs to clear before I achieve all my tank achievements…. :shudder:
"Outside obvious jokes/sarcasm, I aim to convey my words to the future readers who may come across mine posts. Can I change -your- mind, somehow? Potentially... but that's not why I'm writing. You and I have wrote our piece(s). We don't necessarily need to change each other's mind. But we can change other's."
