IF it was like the system you suggest I would have no issue with it, but as it stands and without any news otherwise I and everyone else should assume the content finder will be status quo with every other game on the market. Forcing us into heavilly instanced worlds.

Version 1.xx is different from 2.0 just saying.. They are Adding Instanced stuff for the time being in this Version to keep us entertained till 2.0 is released. We all know next to nothing as far as if its going to be mostly Instanced or mostly Open world. Judging from the PDF's my best guess would be more open world

Yep but not getting my hopes too high... done enough of that in FFXI and ended up with face.
But then again that was with Tanaka... we'll see what Yoshida will do for 2.0 his game now.

It could just be they aren't planning any open world content til after 2.0, Odin for example won't be around til then and thats planned as open world.

As I said in the other threads now is not the time to be complaining about this stuff, SE are focusing most of their time and money on developing 2.0.

I suppose if they keep the claiming system as it is though there is very little chance of real challenging open world content unless its like 100 man.

I disliked the content finder in WoW, everyone just standing around in town seeking a pug then you get warped to the dungeon and then kill everything and getting warped back to town… Oftentimes without even one person in party uttering a single word in chat and why would you? You are probably never going to see them again. Sad for me, I want to play with actual other people who I can get to know well and form friendships.

My favorite is when someone died they couldn’t figure out how to make their way back to the rest of us from the graveyard because they had never actually traveled through that zone, having only ever been teleported there.

However I’m not even going to suggest they don’t put it in the game, I can see where it would be a nice feature for those who just want to log on and do something quick.

I really hope that they add content to the game hard enough that a random group of strangers wouldn’t be able to complete it easily anyway.

Like a lot of things in this game they seem to be trying to cater to both playstyles and perhaps they can pull it off.

It most definitely took more than an hour depending on what you were doing, and when you were playing the game. IE promathia missions after ToAU took forever unless you chanced on other people willing/able/needing to do it. I remember setting up many parties just to disband at 4/6 because people had to go to sleep.

If we're talking about experience parties, that's a blatant lie. It took days to find a group in FFXI sometimes... Unless you joined FFXI post ToAU you should know that. LOLDRG & LOLDRK barely got PT invites before ToAU, and just because you had 6 people who could party didn't mean you could make a party... Mandies in Khazam aren't possible without a healer...
ever wait 45+ minutes at 5/6 members just waiting for 1 person with the right job?
