Sorry small indie company can't afford to cater to all their players. That's why I am "advocating" for both content that is long lasting, and content that is short lasting for people who dont play much, or are just too busy with irl, or just prefer to come to FFXIV, play the content and then go back to playing other games
As of right now, all there is is short lasting content
I dont understand why it cant be both, why does it have to be only long lasting or short lasting, what about... why not both ?
In that case, there's no problem since there always has been a long-lasting piece of content in the game that many players already participate in.
Accumulating gil. There's no barrier to entry other than completing the first 2 quests every new character gets and accepting the third. There are multiple options to enhance a player's experience with the content. Reach gil cap, move part of the gil elsewhere and keep going.
All is well on Etheirys now, right?
Please tell me this is a jokeIn that case, there's no problem since there always has been a long-lasting piece of content in the game that many players already participate in.

There is nothing wrong with having content that actually takes a long time to progress through. So you want them to release content that occupies your every day into eternity? The fact is there will come a point where you will have done everything you want to do and will be waiting for the next, and pretending like this is unique to XIV is just plain ignorant. What exactly is it you want though, new dungeons every week, currency you have to grind every day to be able to acquire gear, something new every month that has never been in game before? There just is no way to create content that takes longer to consume than to develop unless you create daily required grinds to progress.
If you have a poor attention span, MMOs shouldn't be for you.
Being behind isn't a bad thing either, if people have emotional issues due to this, they shouldn't do anything with people then, they need to seek therapy.
- Am fortunate enough to not need to work at the moment although I do take website design commissions when I want to
- My gym is in my basement (treadmill, elliptical, resistance bands, etc.) because I'd prefer not to get creeped on when I want to work out
- Who eats cheese puffs these days?
- I have multiple games I enjoy these days including Genshin, Star Rail, GW2 and some random WoW dabbling
Am I allowed to want the content from the game I love the most to be more engaging and long lasting now?

And if you actually read their point then you’d understand that giving a small segment a long lasting piece of content is better than giving none of us a long lasting piece of content
Love Bozja or hate Bozja you can’t deny some people loved and it kept them subscribed, there is no equivalent keeping people subscribed that is unique endwalker content
So you are saying “the game can’t survive off a long piece of content for only a small part of the community” and acting like that’s an excuse to give nobody content
Almost like you can magically drop your sub and come back when enough new content is around worthnit
