It's a pattern in the game businesses. When the quality starts to stagger, the moment PR team steps down and pushes hard on fake communicating with fanbase via twitter, liking artwork and sharing memes, or just outright endwalker spoilers , because their 5 minutes of fame and number of likes/retweets is somethig of a professional achievement for someone who does not play their own game at all. They already outsource some of their asset development, too, so it's strange that they don't just swallow their pride and spend more money on 'catching up' with what needs to be done to make viera and hrothgar into properly complete playable races.
Maybe they could spend less on marketing gimmicks and more on the game itself, though if anything I expect the costs there to rise moving forward.
And the icing on the cake is the slide on fanfest where they say players use fantasia to ....
...
..CHANGE THE DEITY!
I've had more people admit using fantasia to change moustache color by one tone down on color scale, or tail length from 50 to 69 ....but people using it to change deity?
Is this claim leaning towards some sort of archaic version of game where deities added passive bonuses?
It's so nice living rent-free in some people's heads
(Note: For anyone curious, I've never said any of the things Storm claims. All I ever point out is that all of us on the forums represent the most minuscule minority of the community, and that the dev team has access to far more information than any of our personal opinions or anecdotal "evidence" could ever represent. As for healers, I've never said the playerbase at large must enjoy them. What I've pointed out is that people are still more willing to play them over tanks given how Tank is the role most "in need" and with the shortest queues, so if the dev team was going to re-work a particular role, it would make more sense to focus first on tanks since they're the least played. It's quite telling when someone has to lie about everything you say in a desperate attempt to have a point...)![]()

Oh my god we literally don't know how many Americans like dogs because we can't poll literally every single American, all 330 million of them. There's no way to circumvent this issue ever.
But just keep in mind, despite the lack of data, the majority of Americans like dogs just like I conveniently do.
Sources:
- Trust me bro
- I'm the majority and you're not
- I'm obviously right
- You're part of a miniscule group of malcontents
I like the game though...
To be fair, Striker is arguing that Square does have the data because they have the numbers of everyone playing the class. Engagement numbers and the like.
And I for one having read the EULA remember the part where they use the PlayStation controller to measure the dopamine in my sweat to measure how much I am enjoying the Jobs I play while I am engaged in playing them. The PC EULA might be different.
If square did have the data (say modern healers are super popular and we old boomers from SB are a vanishing minority who do a lot of complaining) then they could shut us up in 5 seconds by actually posting it
It’s a well known thing even when outside of 14 circles that 14 healing gets more than it’s fair share of complaints and I can’t imagine knowing before you even start the game that one of three times is presumed a walking corpse is terribly good publicity
Square gains nothing from continuing to allow the idea that people hate healers to continue if they have the data to disprove it
