    Shaming someone for being scammed out of thirty dollars and boasting about it. It doesn’t matter if you’re a billionaire, it’s still appalling and nothing to be proud of - let alone encouraged. Just like purchasing snake oil, nfts, tickets on uncertified submersibles, mobile telephone games, any edition of skyrim post 2013 or software as a service.

    How is this being scammed?

    How is it any different than someone wanting to show off their new shiny pokemon card, or a girl I know who regularly wastes her money on new Vuitton bags and flaunts them off at the mall.

    We're grown adults who can decide what to do with our money, even if other people think it's nonsense, and even if said spending is incredibly irresponsible or reckless (as in that submarine or my friend who will have ZERO retirement funds).

    You're free to say it was a dumb purchase, and to even make fun of them for showing it off, but at the end of the day, they made a decision to buy a thing. What they do with their own money is their own damn business. It is disingenuous to call this a scam.
