Airships: Cost vs. Frequency vs. Usage

I'd use the airship a lot more if it crashed in Coerthas or Mor Dhona randomly.

Right now I use it about 4-7 times a day, if they reduced the price I'd be on board with it but I think it's fine the way it is. If something in another city isn't worth 5k to go see, then it probably isn't worth the trip anyways

I think the time is just right too- enter gate- get a refill on my coffee- splash some water on my face- sit back down and I'm across the world like magic~

Depending on what I'm doing in a day I've used them as much as 5~7 times in a day, but and avg. is ~3.
Like SHJcules said the wait is decent, grab a coffee, hit the head, smoke. I think the longest I've seen was ~3mins when crossing the gate just as the ship left w/o me. At least they aren't using the 1 ship round trip time, I'm sure that would be significantly longer.
Cost wise, I usually don't pay attention to it, I do alot of leves to try to keep caught up with friends during the week so money isn't a huge problem.

Outpost teleports for a cost in gil equivalent to the distance being tele'd, rather than the anima system, can only teleport to OPs you've already visited, only to full camps, w/ a substantial cost/convenience rate ...

I've never used an airship. I have far too much anima. Why waste the gil? Can't even enjoy the ride and walk around on deck.

The cost? Compared to anima(free), too much. (If anima didn't exist, perhaps reducing the fee a bit would be nice since use would be much more frequent, but I would like to see it be an effective gil sink.)

I feel that airships were doomed the moment they added them because of anima.

I hope that someday SE fixes/gets rid of anima so that airships and chocobos see far more use. World seems dead with people magically popping in and out all the time. I want this to feel like a Final Fantasy game.

I thought you have to wait for it to arrive after you go through the gate? My proposal would be that you get on the airship the moment you pay for your ticket. No waiting inbetween.

you wait for like 2 minutes tops for the ship to arrive, you can't be in that big a rush can you?

I thought the current airship system couldn't get any lamer.. but then I read this and realized it absolutely COULD get lamer! Why is everyone in such a hurry?

I'd pay as much as ten times the normal amount of gil just to be able to see events actually happen on the airships... I would not pay a gil extra for faster airships (I don't feel the need for faster airships, they seem fine as-is).

The big reason:
- They only go to the 3 cities. If they went to more destinations (coming later?) I would probably use them more often. Right now I just chocobo to most places and teleport between cities.

Minor reasons:
- I would like it if they had a player selectable option to set once and always skip the cut scene of getting in and out of the elevator.
- Too many dialog boxes when trying to buy your ticket and get through the gate.

The cost is negligible and the frequency isn't so bad. But teleporting between the cities is just a lot more convenient.

Rarely am I placed into the situation where I need to get from one city to another city quickly. Maybe, during a server maintenance where I want to get to another city to rest. So, at most I use it once a month. Also usually people gather at Uldah, and my return is set there most of the time.

I hardly use it. I would use it more and pay more for it if it let you instantly go where you needed to instead of having to wait for it to dock.
