If I had the chance to see the Forum before buying XIV, I'd never play it.

The Forum should be the place where IDEAS comes out and ppl DISCUSS them.
It's unquestionable there are dick heads around every corner, but holy fuck this is almost unbelivable.

I mean, I'm a dick head and I dont want to pretend to be anything.
You, on the other hands, every of you who are cleary like a spotlight in the night...do You realize you want to be the "Defenders of SE" and what you are showing us is how small your brain is?
This is the Official Forum of XIV, if I'm not wrong...no I'm not jsut checked.
This is where tecnically new players can see how is the avarage of XIV comunity.
They need to dig deep down before find someone who explains "The forum is a minority, ppl in the game are better than these ones".

Or maybe it's jsut a tecnique, closing within these pages dick head and let toxicity be less in game....

I would argue the moderators just need to do a better job at moderating the threads here but I also wouldnt want it to be so much where they start policing opinions. No matter how stupid, idiotic, disgusting, odious and asinine takes can get here.

Also its just forum culture. Sometimes we just need to learn to accept it. Im personally slowly trying to, but its hard.

Are you new to MMO's? I've played plenty and would never use any of their official forums to learn about communities. People use official forums often in hopes of getting noticed by the parent company so it is either filled with the extreme whiners or defenders. There is little nuance in official MMO forums.

The other reason for this can be seen in your own post. I didn't see many "defenders of SE" in here. I saw a lot of people calling OP a troll based on their past experience with them, saying they blocked this person, etc. That's not expressing an opinion about SE or XIV's game design. If I don't like McDonald's it doesn't mean I like Burger King or any fast food for that matter. Also If you don't fully agree with with defender's opinion then you must be a hater and vice versa - this also happens in all forums. We also see the equating of intelligence to subjective preferences (good/bad) as well. But this extremism from both sides pushes those of us in the middle away - much as it does in some political circles.

Whether people like/dislike the game direction, this type of word salad is ripe for meme responses. I have a feeling the OP knew this when posting and this post is just bait so my initial response was in this light.
If the original post wasn't bait? I think it kind of negates it's own point in some ways since it uses the most efficient means of understanding, Wikipedia, as its source material. That's the definition of the very thing they are criticizing. The second to last paragraph pretty much says nobody can disagree with this which means the author wouldn't take any rebuttal seriously anyway. It doesn't invite communication from a scientific perspective so hardly little shock that there is none.

To be fair, the original wasn't really criticizing the design either. It was explaining it, rather. After all, there are actual merits to McDonald's, and there are actual merits to why people don't want PF to be more of a disaster than it already can be.

Whether or not it is worth the price is up to the reader.
