They can play or don't play what they want. But I find it disgusting to deny people who like grind content their fun just because it's not for everybody.

I don't like savage raids. Or even ultimate. So I don't play that type of content. And because I don't play that content I also don't have an opinion about it. Let the raiders enjoy their raid content. And let the people who enjoy grind their grind content.

The people who don't want to run content can just get their tomestone gear for minimal effort anyway, there is no reason to remove grind content or maybe savage just so they can get the rewards from that content too.

It’s a good thing not to answer your enemies. I scarcely ever do. Perhaps Emily is more like me than I am like myself. Perhaps she would rather not answer her friends, even. She keeps it all in her heart.

You misspelled "I am" as "You are".

The same piece of content isn't going to keep every player busy for the same amount of time.

Here's a good example from hunts: It takes me roughly 20 minutes to scout a train and relay it then another 20 minutes to conduct it. Those who only show up for the train and take no part in the organization only have it occupy 15-20 minutes of their time. That train has twice the longevity for me that it had for everyone else. The difference can be even more remarkable when it comes to S ranks. Some spawn attempts can take up to an hour while the relays and kill only take 5-6 minutes. Then of course there is the time spent on failed spawn attempts as well. S ranks can have 20-30 times the longevity for those who spawn compared to those who only show up to kill.

Or here's an example from raiding: some statics are able to clear the new Savage in a week. Others need 12 weeks. Putting the gear farm aside, just clearing Savage will have several times the longevity for one group of players compared to another. Gear farms will change the longevity comparison.

Even if you have problems with the content longevity because you only do it once and then ignore it, others don't. That's why they're still paying and logging in.

It's your choice to keep paying once you've run out of things to do. Maybe if more players like you would stop paying once they've finished all the content in a week, developers would take a greater interest in producing content more to your liking. They certainly have no reason to do so when you're going to pay regardless.

I don't think anyone here is trying to deny those who like grinds a good grind. What they don't want is rewards they want to be gated by a grind they don't find to be fun.

Some players found ARR/HW relic grinds to be fun but not Eureka/Bozja. For other players, the reverse was true. Who does SE listen to?

There's an achievement list filled with grinds for those who love grinds yet those aren't satisfactory for some of the grind seekers for whatever reason.

So what makes a grind worth doing to players? What makes it fun? What makes it satisfying when you're done?

I have to agree with one point at least…
I too found him playing Zelda before a presentation instead of looking through the files, rather unprofessional and uninterested.

He was unprepared and you could easily see that by how the man next to him was guiding him on how to hold the papers so they are not upside down.
That in itself really makes me wonder how much did he oversee of what’s about to be implemented in game, IF he even saw the designs beforehand and honestly with how certain things were implemented (hairstyles, capes, cut off ears just as a little example) Im starting to believe he doesn’t oversee much.

I quite literally just started Island Sanctuary two weeks ago, and still not rank 12. I don't say that because there is so much content that I could not get around to it. I say that because there is no effin way anyone can get to rank 12 in a week. I guess, technically you could but man that would be an extremely tedious process that would drive most insane.

More examples: Gearing up to BiS. Maxing out beast tribes. Max out a custom deliveries NPC. Growing certain crops such as Thav onions or Jute. Getting to seven figure gil. Obtain all items from Faux Hollows. Obtain all TT cards. Close all fishing holes.

Some content has no finish line such as: Wonderous Tales. Glamour chasing. Playing in a performance band. Role Play. Helping other players clear difficult duties. Soloing duties.

Your exaggerations aside, getting bored easily and not being able to find replay value with the given content is not the same as lack of content.

This is just another thread of “I’m upset there isn’t an exploratory zone or grind for my relics”. People who are upset about it make a consolidation of how you want a relic grind. There isn’t a lack of content. Go back and look at 5.4 and 4.4 patch notes. It’s the same amount of content that always drops. It’s actually more because of island sanctuary.

More content comes in the 6.45 patches. The exploratory zones were made into variant/criterion/savage dungeons and the deep dungeon people have been complaining they wanted for the last few years. Although, this patch cycle there isn’t an ultimate, there have been 2 already in the 6.x series with another one coming in 6.5 So please stop making these doomsaying omg ffxiv no content threads. It’s not true. It’s just not content you wanted. If they had made an exploratory zone people would’ve complained “omg no content because no deep dungeon, no content because still no challenge 4man content, omg why do I have to grind fates for relics, so boring” People complained about these previously and they got the changes we have in 6.x series. It’s the results of what people “asked” for.

'I'm getting the content I want, and if you want something that doesn't cater to what I want get out your not welcome here' is such a lovely take

As much as you guys hate to hear it, if you are that disgruntled with the game, quit. No, I'm not being facetious.

Have you ever heard the adage "Actions speak louder than words"? What about "Money talks"?

SE is a business. They can claim that they care about the playerbase's health or what have you, but at the end of the day, if their product is failing, they will have to acknowledge the negativity.

'Cause as of right now, it seems like a lot of "This game is awful *stays subbed anyway*", which holds absolutely no weight whatsoever.

To not get too far into it, we have a current example going on in the world that shows boycotts do have a huge impact if there are enough people who feel the same way.

So long as the people who are unhappy are still giving them money, nothing will change.

And I'm not talking about just a small dip in active players like the steam charts show. That's normal expansion downswing. If you want to get their attention and make them actually consider what they are doing is not what people want, the numbers have to back it. They have to make SE pause in their tracks and wonder why people are leaving in droves.

Stop making hollow threats on leaving, 'cause right now, they're calling your bluff.

So like it or not, money talks.

I doubt they do much in the test stream. Most of the time it's mic quality checks while he and Foxicon crack jokes. Also if looking at that dancer weapon with zero prior knowledge would you have known which way was up?

This lack of content is still making them bank. So MaxCarmage is right. Pretty sure last year was their second most profitable ever, the first being EWs release year. So they are successful and all this complaining will go into a void so long as they keep being successful where it truly matters: money.
