Stop waiting for cutscenes in alliance raids. We never did this in Stormblood.

Once or twice I've seen someone pull out the "Just watch it in the inn" at a sprout and it does not go well for them in alliance chat at all.

With event alliance raids i have seen 'enjoy the cutscene, and if you want to see all mechanics, just queue again' as an argument, and if im honest, i cant disagree. Its not like the mechanics are making you miss too much story wise. Just watch and enjoy, and if you want to face the full mechanics, just queue again. It doesnt matter if its started or not.

Still, most of the time people still wait. Nearly every single time i see that ready window pop up. And unless 1 party is missing a healer, they will often continue (missing 2 because the first 1 died will escalate quickly). Some waiting is recommended anyway as it ensures most players are ready to fight (some 3min cooldowns can recharge nicely here).

I've seen at least four inflammatory remarks directed at other individuals from the OP.

Plus, you know, it's a sockpuppet account. Some guy has made it his hobby to create new accounts, powerlevel CNJ to 90, botanist to 90, then shitpost till he gets banned. Then rinse and repeat.

The argument point is about " Speed " and pulling ASAP could actually miss-align cooldowns which can cost DPS.

Based on how Alliance Raids are generally structured... you'll have a Boss followed by TrashMob(s)/MiniBoss(es) before the Next Boss. At the Final boss it may vary? but you'll always get a Cutscene and waiting for someone watching will more likely then not re-align your cooldowns. Granted it doesn't make it any faster, just that the seconds saved by pulling ASAP are " absolutely Neglectable "

The players who advocate to pull ASAP are usually the worst performing players. To then have them lecture all of us on making it go faster? means they probably have proof of their immaculate performances they contribute to the Raids... Show us then. The juicy Mahogany, that seared Timber, thicc Maple. You probably have farmed HQ logs if you're that fixated on speed. Unless that's to unreasonable to ask vs having common courtesy to wait the few seconds you're not even saving with your piss poor performances.

I didn't even consider this, but you are right. I also enjoy letting folks watch cutscenes so I can get my cooldowns back up. Especially on bard, because it's very easy to drift when you are bolting between packs.

OP, troll or not does make good points from time to time. Just because they aren’t necessarily the opinion of the hive mind that is this new generation of the ffxiv community, doesn’t necessarily make them wrong. I feel as though that is hyperbolic. Anecdotal at best.

Because anecdotally, the people in my parties who I have seen pull are almost always the top performer, while the people I have seen get upset about not waiting are generally underperforming. And not only because they are too busy typing angrily in chat.

I've also had quite a few runs where I am rezzing someone who ate HQ food every 3rd mechanic. None of those things correlate with skill.

It's alliance. And while I hate to be the person who says, "it's only x content", that really is the case. The content is designed around carrying players. It's not even midcore content. Most people don't push 90% of their buttons because it's "just alliance" and they can get away with it. They don't try to align their CDs or get their burst ready. And if a countdown gets started, I see nary a dps readying their opener.

If the majority of people in the alliance actually bothered to try, I'm sure the people trying to "speed" through the content wouldn't mind waiting 30-60 seconds. Cause in the end it usually comes down to people getting bored that 20 minute content is taking 30+ minutes. The game is meant to be full. And the game is fun when it isn't turned into a slog by people not trying.

Being considerate of other players enjoying the story is something I've seen in every expansion (aside from Praetorum runs before the changes lol).

I love when I play I hear people say in group or alliance "One moment we have CS!"

Haven't seen anyone have an issue with waiting the brief time it takes.
