I'm tired of being told to wait for post-patches and expansions for fixes and increased healing requirements that are never coming. Healers are not fun in all forms of content like all jobs should be, they're replaced by tanks and dps due to low healing requirements and their dps kit is small for 0 reason, when in the past we had more options and handled things just fine. I refuse to play healer in roulette come DT. I refuse to heal EXs, I refuse to go into Savage, and I am boycotting Ultimate.

I really like the healers in PvP! Especially Sage, it's a monster. They are really well designed in PvP, you don't get limitless healing tools and you have to watch your resources. Additionally healing is more of a team effort where everybody has to watch out for their own health as well.
In PvE I don't like healers, because it feels like my goal as a healer is to never use gcd heals and my reward is a very lackluster dps rotation. You only gcd heal when absolutely neccessary and you always feel bad about it, cause you lose out on damage, you likely didn't use your ogcds right. Maybe it feels better in Ex or Savage, cause there you are probably forced to GCD heal, but even there you fundamentally don't want to use them and even skills like Afflatus Solace aren't used. If healing GCDs were not punished, but only punished after a while and your healing was reduced and you had less ogcds, that would be cool. I also wish that stuff like macrocosm and pneuma weren't on such extremely long cooldowns, they are such awesome skills and then you barely get to use them.




For me, the first time in new battle content is still pretty good fun.
Doing random stuff in PF with a couple of friends is also enjoyable if/when things go south. Even 24 mans get exciting on the occasion that Jin ends up tanking on Sam![]()

Their weapons are always shiny and neat. Makes me wanna collect them.
White Mage spells also are very pretty. I can’t imagine how they can top the aesthetics in the next expansion.



WHM: It's the job that reminds me the most of the previous mmo healers i have played.
It's great to play when you're new to the fight and have to focus more on the tactics and surviving..
I like that it's simple and straightforward.
AST: I play more AST than WHM atm..
I love the card system and that i can inc the dmg of my party.
Feels amazing to weave (cards/heal) abilites in between my DPS skills.
Sage and Scholar:
Have not played them, i may try them in the future..

Healers Overall
1. The glamour.
2. I like that XIV's healing is more oGCD focused. I don't think I could stand healing if it was just spam healing the same one-or-two spells. I wish the devs would embrace this design more. ¯\_( ◉ 3 ◉ )_/¯
For AST
1. The aesthertics. 。゚✶ฺ.ヽ(*´∀`*)ノ.✶゚ฺ。
2. I like the cards. I like being able to buff others and I like having something to weave inbetween GCDs often. (I will admit though, I miss Royal Road and the ability to lengthen the buff times and I don't care for EW's Seal system)
3. Earthy Star. There's something really satisfying about timing a big, Earthy Star blast after a big hit. Same with Macrocosmos.
(Having said these, I feel that AST has a serious timing problem with aligning all its oGCDs with Divination and the 2-minute window)
For SGE
1. I like how the job flows. For me, it just feels very smooth to play.
As for WHM and SCH, I can't really get into playing WHM, it just feels too plain and slow to me, and SCH feels really disjointed.(´◑д◐`)




SE took everything away that I LIKE about healers.While it's good to look at problems in order to come up with solutions, the flipside of that is also relevant and sometimes pretty useful - figuring out what things are good in order to expand or grow those things, which can even be instructive in coming up with solutions to said problems.
While I appreciate the sardonic attempts at humor via heavy sarcasm: This thread was meant to be serious. Apologies if I didn't make that clear. I was going to start a converse thread with what people dislike, but as people can't seem to resist injecting that here by way of sarcasm, there seems to be no point. <_<
When people say this place is salty, this is KINDA what they mean.
MP Management? Gone outside of chain rezzing. Can't even have Classes for that anymore (see Old AST, BRD and MCH with TP)
General resource management, as in saving my frequent but small heals for larger ones when I know heavy healing is coming? Wtf is the point when I have several heals on the same CD (60s) that are interchangable? Anything that I can use CU for I can use CO. Why use CO? Anything I can use ED or CI for I can use Exalt.
There's so many heals built into the healer kit you'd think there'd be meaningful choice there but no there isn't.
Actually feeling like I belong in a party, contributing? Unless my party is taking massive amounts of damage because they can't be bothered to dodge telegraph AOEs, I'm a glorified gimp DPS, doubly so because I'm maining the SUPPORT BUFFING HEALER that only contributes DAMAGE.
The only time I actually enjoy healer is when I purposefully queue for Dun Scaith or Orbonne pray for and actually get heavy wipes on bosses so I can do my intended job - ACTUALLY SAVING THE PARTY.

I like Plenary Indulgence and Afflatus spells. The fact that I can choose when to cast it over a period of time without overcapping resources is nice and it would be cool if more dps jobs had this option. Misery is a tidy way to permit using WHM's Lillies. I'm glad that it's DPS neutral (and positive under buffs) now, because they hardly ever add boss encounters that you can hit more than 1 target at a time anymore. I'm not so in love with the system that I would be sad to see it go, though, unless they replaced it with something less fun.
I like SGE's vrrooooip noises. I basically don't care about my character's aesthetic at all, so I consider this to be a smashing success on their part
I sorta like the fact that I can put the equivalent button for each healer on the same keybind across all healers. While a sobering reminder that they play very similarly, at least my bars are well organized.
I think all the healers are interesting in PvP, at least.
Other than that, I just like healing because I know I can drag a group through pretty much anything as a healer. That's not really thanks to their current design, it's always been that way. In fact, it probably goes too far now. I'm with others that have posted about hoping shit hits the fan, because then I get to actually react and heal. Even the most recent 24 mans are very tame now.



I like the healing kits themselves.
Shame that I practically never have to use any of my GCD heals because there's literally no point, just spam 1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1 until the fights over because you don't need to do anything else, hell in 90% of content, I don't even have to use my healing kit because there's so little outgoing damage.



The current PvP iterations of the healers are all pretty cool and distinct on both a aesthetic/thematic *and* mechanical level.
