He’ll delete the game before he hands it over to someone else. The man wants total control and that’s exactly what he’s getting. He does not care about us anymore.

On the contrary, there's older interviews stating that he wanted to hand it over to somebody else but couldn't find anyone able to take over. I'd wager he's there by contract not because he necessarily wants to be there but because the cult that has built up around him allows him to show up during a Live Letter to cheers from the crowd whilst being completely caught off-guard whenever a deep question makes it past the carefully curated Q&A sessions.

He's probably getting funding for FFXVI on the condition that he keeps his name tied to FFXIV but it's clear that the former has not only taken talent away from the latter but seems to be much more of a passion project than FFXIV.

Endwalker unceremoniously did away with large swathes of the ongoing story, after all and the guy doesn't seem to grasp that not everybody shares the same interests and personal tastes be it in regards to the story or in regards to actual content.

Not the greatest news if it is to be taken literally that they will just use tomestones. Yet, on the other side of the coin, this is some extra motivation to continue working toward the Hunt mounts that have been on my agenda for a while.

To me, it doesn't really entirely matter in the grand scheme of things considering this is how relics have historically been. Same old content that players have done for the umpteenth time. FATEs, dungeons, etc.,

The question is what do you use the outcome for? Sastasha? 90% of the content in this game will sync it and neuter it. While also only giving you 2 buttons to use and removing most of your hotbar.

Well that is disappointing. I had hoped to not instantly finish my relic again as well I cap currency before every half patch. I doesn't feel like I really earned anything here unlike my previous relics, heck I was spamming A1 for moogle tomes and getting light at the same time for my HW bard relic which feels like more of an accomplishment.

I can only hope the backlash from EW's relics results in them going the FFXI route in 7.0. An excessively lengthy, costly, and difficult grind rewarded with incredibly powerful equipment is the way to go.
