Stop waiting for cutscenes in alliance raids. We never did this in Stormblood.

imagine thinking "boss spawns and roars" or i guess what nowadays is "spouts off some one-liner for padding/fluff" is such a gripping part of the experience. like the only time this behavior had an excuse was back during old toto-rak, stone vigil and whatever other poorly designed instance tossed a long, actually plot-relevant cutscene at you before the boss.

And THIS is why the bosses need to be locked as long as someone has the Cutscene running.


You do not realize the roulett is there so first timers get their duty in the first place lol. If not for them, you would need to run the highest duty till your eyes bleed.

Fully agreed. This isn’t like WoW or Lost Ark where you play the game. You basically watch the cutscenes and then watch the next one, it’s like Netflix but less diversity and more nodding.

By the way, I have an idea for a great feature. Instead of locking everyone in an involuntary cutscene (whether they’ve seen it or not), how about we make it so that people can start the fight, and cutscene-watchers can hop in once they’re done? I think it’s a terrible idea for players to be locked out of a fight for watching a cutscene, and Square Enix needs to fix this.

Of course, you don’t want that to happen, and that’s fine. You will watch plenty of real Netflix while idling at your house/Limsa until the next patch, because you’ve done all the cutscenes and there’s not much else. But surely the game is fine, right?

They already can port in when finished the cutscene. Only in ARR were people locked out of the fight

No, XIV is a super serious hardcore die in the game die for real experience only the most giga of chads should ever engage with and anyone not performing more perfectly than Yoshi himself may as well be darksydephil. /s

Agreed, but some people want them to be mandatory instead of optional. They don't want people to have the option to skip. They want instances to be like Praetorium. Except, instead of an in-game feature, they peer pressure and threaten to report anyone who pulls early. It's the pinnacle of overriding the developers' intent to fit your own ulterior motives of instilling social compliance.



You see how they deal with problems in Final Fantasy XIV? Now who really needs to "smoke some weed" here?
