You're exaggerating. And you still don't seem to understand my message. Did you even try to understand what I wanted to explain? I have made my position on this matter as clear as possible. Although no. Not very clear =). Anyway.

I don't know what your situation was with this tank. And maybe you're exaggerating too.

I still don't understand what's the problem with the tank aggroing the mobs and the rest of them hitting them? The person above explained clearly. If people pull normally, then no one is offended. Maybe the samurai ran into another room ahead of the tank and started hitting the mobs beforehand? I wouldn't like that either. I also want to be in the heat of battle with the team. Everyone sits down at the dinner table and starts eating at the same time.

Again. Why don't I fly ahead of the locomotive when playing as a healer or dps and calmly follow the tank? I remember there was a case when a dps ran ahead of me into the next room BUT he just stood there and waited for me to come up. He didn't attack mobs. What a wonderful person.

Why in the "toxic Warcraft community" in the dungeons, tanks go ahead and no one cries about the fact that "everyone is equal."

Don't know. I think that you are mistaken about the "protagonist's illness". I also have a love for this. But again, why don't I feel like that when playing dps and healer? Perhaps because this is not a "disease of the protagonist" but people's vision of the role of a tank.

Maybe I, being a tank, will perceive this behavior of aggro mobs as toxic before I approach them at an adequate distance? About the children. Do you know the age of the tank that is with you in the dungeon? What is the gender of the person who entered?

Why do I even ask these questions, and you just listen only to your anger without trying to understand other people?

And If you've read it). I'm not happy with my personality trait and my habits for the tank to feel like the main character. It is by no means ego or doing to put other people down. Personally, when I see this, I feel unworthy. A person not needed by the group who trudges behind while the rest are having fun. The key word is FEEL. Even if I know all the local rules of the game and other things that are voiced in this thread. For some people, feelings dictate their behavior. And considering that I am the same person as many others. I'm sure a lot of people have similar feelings.

God, I probably spent 30 minutes on this wall of text. I hope in the end you will appreciate at least my efforts to explain the behavior of some people.

And please. It's not hard for me to even write this. Please. No need for aggression. If you don't understand what I wrote, ask again. Maybe I just described some things badly. You're still talking to the biggest fool who believed in "the best community among MMOs". So something like this)

Giving me a passive aggressive response and assuming I'm exaggerating is not a valid statement nor point for your argument.

You "liking" something or not is not a valid excuse to be this toxic.

Again. Why don't I fly ahead of the locomotive when playing as a healer or dps and calmly follow the tank? I remember there was a case when a dps ran ahead of me into the next room BUT he just stood there and waited for me to come up. He didn't attack mobs. What a wonderful person.
This statement has nothing to do with tanks just refusing to fulfill their role by pulling mobs because some dps aggro'd first. All mobs in dungeons have an aggro range, and server ticks affect people in different ways. While you, on your screen, might see the DPS stand right next to you that doesn't mean that they are, in fact, standing there, but instead might be a bit closer to the mobs than originally thought.

Why in the "toxic Warcraft community" in the dungeons, tanks go ahead and no one cries about the fact that "everyone is equal."
Stop bringing WoW into this conversation because WoW has a different mentality when it comes to running dungeons as a group. We are talking about FFXIV only and the main issue why tanks refuse to fulfill their TANK role by pulling mobs once someone else does because they feel offended. And this is coming from me, who never played WoW, but played tons of other MMORPGs. Just stop.

So, you dare to assume people's stance on this issue as "exaggeration" or blown over the top, yet here you are, assuming whatever tank is an actual child? Children shouldn't be playing this game at all without adult supervision, and most people who actually play this game are grown adults to have jobs and pay their bills, because you know, they can pay the subscription. We're not talking about children, no, and you must stop assuming everybody is a child -- this is a conversation about actual adults ACTING like toddlers because "BOOHOO this DPS pulled ahead of me!!"

If you feel "worthless" because some DPS pulled ahead of you, take my following advice: do not play tank. You're basically admitting you enjoy control and power over situations, which explains why you are so good at twisting people's words for your cause to fit your agenda. Play DPS if you wish to be more nice, and if you really want to feel worth it, play healer, that way you can at least do your job and maybe not get offended or enable this toxicity.

You attempting to justify people's awful behavior doesn't satisfy my need for answers, in fact, you have NOT provided me a clear answer as to why you think tanks decide to grief players by sabotaging their runs because some DPS pulled ahead. You have given me nothing in this wall of text except on how you feel about your situation as tank -- you basically accept and are willing to spite people because you wish to counter your "feelings" of being worthless as a tank, nothing else.

I had to divide my answer in 3 parts because of character limit. Enjoy.

If the tank is doing their job, there will not be any mobs left for someone else to grab. It is clear ftom how the devs started making dungeons from HW on, and from the cool down of our mitigation skills, that w2w is the way to go. Especially these days with how dumb down dungeons and aggro is.

I use to be like some of you. I thought pulling small was better, was safer. Then I had a chance meeting with a healer. I qued up for the next dungeon I could do. Toto Raj. I was chugging along, doing my small pulls, when I noticed the healer ran off and grabbed another group. Mmm that's strange, I thought. There, he did it again. What a strange healer. Oh well I'm tank and small pulls is the way to go. So I continued on my way. The healer stopped and asked why am I only pulling one group of mobs, and that double pulling/w2w is what is going to be expected of me in later dungeons. I said oh no that seems a bit scary. Single pulls are better. Once I feel more comfortable, I will w2w. He asked me when will that be? How will I know I am ready if I don't do it.

Now at this point I had several options in front of me.
    1) I could throw a temper tantrum and say no I am the tank, we do what I say!
    2) Throw a bigger temper tantrum and be a dick as well and do the ol ypyt.
    3) Throw an even bigger temper tantrum and be a huge dick and combine options 1 and 2
    4) put on my big girl pants and fo my job.

Since I am an adult and not a child, and have the maturity that comes with it, I went with option 4. I asked for some help/tips, the healer and one of the dps helped me out. I learned that night that w2w pulls are easier on mitigation as well as just way more fun.

Zero passive aggression from me. I have only a desire to convey my idea and explain the behavior of people.

What did I hear from you?) The false statement that only adults play this game and the statement that children should not play this game. A very strong position. Nothing backed up. What is the age limit for this game? I see numbers related to the concept of "teenager"). What is characteristic of the concept of "teenager"? Interesting interesting.

Indicating in the form of an order what to do and who to play. While you yourself refuse to even understand the motives of other people? If I tell you in this form, how will you play, will you listen to me? I think no.

And again the fear of the great and mighty Warcraft. When it's an ordinary MMORPG like many others. And I have not seen that in other MMORPGs someone would question the leadership (standing in front of the group) of a player with a higher defense. Have you played ff1? Or new versions? In these games, the healers also stood in front and received a one-shot from the boss?

And again a delusion. I'm not trying to justify anyone. Have you seen this word in my sentences? I don't remember that. I said "Understand" them. Already this misunderstanding suggests that you do not try to read at all and hear only yourself.

You can see above. The man understood me and I agreed with him. And we both came to an agreement.

Maybe you don't understand something. Or you take some very negative example as a basis. I don't know.

But I remember the incident. I am a healer. And a sprout tank. He walks slowly I go with him. Some dps ran further and died lol. I did not even heal this person. I just ran next to my favorite sprout and treated it. The other player no longer attempted to run ahead of the group. LOL.

I don't know lol. I came from Warcraft. And I found single pools boring from the start. And I already loved to aggro a bunch of mobs. To feel the adrenaline and fun. But that's because I love it and it was so interesting to me. I don't like it when people put pressure on me and tell me what to do. And it's frustrating to watch other people tell you how to play.

I was going to put this in my above post but it was getting long. I know I can edit it to get around the character limit but figure I will still break this post up.

If you have anxiety about w2w or not sure about it. I will give you the basics and you can see how easy it is.

Once you load in, say your Hellos, eat your food. Barrier drops. Start running towards the first set of mobs. Now here is the important part. Pop that sprint before you grab aggro. Out of combat sprint is 20 secs, in combat it is a gross 10 seconds. Don't be gross, go for that sweet 20 seconds. Why do we hit sprint? No it's not because we are in a rush. It is because sprint is a form of mitigation. If they can't catch you, they can't hit you. Your healers will love you extra because of this small button press. Okay now we are running fast towards the first group. Once Un range hit one of those ugly mobs with your range attack, then an aoe as you move through the pack. Keep running towards the next pack. Oh oh, a mobs feet were just outside your aoe and one of the dps or healer has aggro? Who cares keep running, it's a hallway, you all are heading towards the same spot. Getting close to second pack, hit one with your range attack and aoe as you run through them. Now stop, set up shop.

Start aoeing and weaving in your mitigation. I like to pop my 30% mitigation since it has a longer cool down. I pop my 15 second mitigation as well (bloodletting, hollysheltron, TBN, whatever gnb has) now once your 30% mit gets close to falling off, pop arms length or reprisal if there are mobs left.

Once you start getting more comfortable with a dungeon and w2w pulling you can start tossing in your invuln as well. Especially if your a Paladin. Okay first w2w is done. Repeat for next one but pop rampart since you 30% mit should still be on CD. That is the basics of w2w pulls. Not that hard right?

The tricky thing about this idea is that it's a group game. Unless you play with trusts you will always be playing with other people. Everything you do in an instance will effect everyone else in that instance. This is why I hold the stance that everyone has an equal say in how the run goes. Everyone has the ability to start a vote kick or a vote to abandon after all. This effectively means that you will always be told how to play and you will always be telling others how to play by simply playing with them. Whatever pace you go you are declaring both your opinion and your intentions. It's only fair that your party members are free to do the same.
