Why are people taking God's promise not to flood the world (again...) as a sign for this and that?
Now it's getting steamy. Tell us more.
don't get me wrong, i'm not saying i don't think the girls are in love or anything like that. i agree they probably are, and i think their love is precious; i just don't think that was the point of the rainbow rock lol everything else they've done subtlety which i really like bc it's normalizing all kinds of love and - feelings? about gender etc (just look at jandelaine, that man is a disaster IMO he looks like he's perpetually dressed for easter or smthn but no one cares), which is how it should be. the world of final fantasy isn't like ours, they don't have religions and STDs giving people a reason to demonize anything outside of hetero love and sexuality. so as far as representation goes - just normalize it. which they do. same with the ideas of gender - i don't think many people in the FF world *in general* cares that much if you feel more comfy presenting yourself & living in a way that others might perceive as feminine or masculine - bc it's a fantasy world with a wholly different society where they have other things to worry about like survival and stuff. i think the biggest reason these things are so prevalent in our society today is bc we live in so much luxury that people have time to care, as well as just...how we've done ourselves dirty. but in a fantasy? it's different..and i think square's done a pretty decent job of adding that kind of "it's normal and nbd" flavor to their game. could it be done more? sure. but we have two girls with a wholesome love for each other that we meet and grow to care for now instead of just background npcs you might never even meet, which is cool. and i wouldn't mind if there were more npcs like that even though we already have haurchefaunt, aymeric, and g'raha (and arguably possibly zenos in a very unhealthy way) who absolutely love and adore the WoL regardless of their sex, so - honestly i think they count more than that, than it being a "sexless love" for people who want that for their player character. i dont really think love should be simplified as an attraction to one's sex anyway but that's coming from someone who's on the gray scale and isn't really a fan of pg21 proclivities except with someone who has my whole trust and comfort  but that's off the point askjdf. and considering we have 3 male characters (i guess 2) who show such an adoration for the WoL regardless of their sex, tbh tbh i think we need some cool ladies to add to the WoL dream harem (this is mildly a joke but i would be down for a woman who shares a similar love as aymeric and/or g'raha's for us)
but i still don't think the rainbow rock is more of a flag than it is a representation of us restoring all the aspects of life to the land >.>
if you wanna take it as a little easter egg of that kind - sure, idc, doesn't hurt me. just giving my two cents of my own opinion as others do. and my opinion is simply - yes, there are two girls whether or not their love for each other is romantic or not, but...the point of the scene probably wasn't wholly to be an in your face lgbt representation bc. thinking of it that way seems out of place to me. i rather like the idea of the story being focused on that - the story and the impacts of our actions - rather than a holla back at our irl problems  in general. yeah i agree with most things, just not the rock being a blatant flag lol but that's just how i perceive it
