Indeed, amazing how oblivious some people in marketing can be. Even if the concept of shorts or hoodies is pretty generic, it's not always easy to get a good fit and that's even a worse concept when it's being tied to what is supposedly a premium brand and a price to match. i was pretty surprised to be honest , given that SE should know how popular their game is with various genders.

Men and women do have different bodies and the female versions are usually more form-fitting or have a different shape in general. Like t-shirts often getting a bit smaller around the waist or sweatpants often having a straight cut and not this kind of carrot-shaped thing the bucket hat wearing WoL wears. They also don't have any dangly bits to account for so pants tend to have a shorter crotch seam.
If for nothing else, having a choice between these two shapes would've been better in general. It's less about gender stereotypes or t-shirts being "men only" and more about the different shapes "gendered" versions offer.

I personally don't care which version has which shape. Nor would I have bought it either way but variety for people who are interested would've been nice.
