Enforce ilvl-sync to Alliance Raid Roulettes to put a stop to the Crystal Tower Spam

My theory of these crystal tower spam is that there's a player thats need do this dungeon, and he dont do roulette, so selecting that speficific raid. And so, those in roulette help'em.

No worries, as soons they fix this will be a spam of Nier or Aglaia everyday, and so the forum will complain bout it. But ive seen a post that make sense, these raids are part o MSQ, so many new players need finish it.

You do know that roulette's main purpose is to help out new players. Maybe if the other raids were tied to the main story quest, they would pop more in the alliance raid roulette. you can just queue for the raid you want run.

Really, the people purposely doing this via ilvl-cheese has gotten their way for too many years, and I'm honestly bored to tears because of Crystal Tower.

I think its time they're taught a lesson if enforcing ilvl-sync for alliance raid roulettes will be the way to go and allow other Alliance raids to pop more often.

I know its gonna lose players and alliance raid roulettes will end up having the timer to start a raid go on longer, but holy hell this needs to end.

Also by enforcing ilvl-sync maybe Crystal Tower might actually be FUN AGAIN? AND ALSO by enforcing ilvl across all alliance raids they can't cheese anything else because I read arguments they're just do this to void ark if only CT was fixed, well then, we can't have that now can we?

This should be done across the board. If you are above the level required for the content, your ilv WILL BE SYNCED. Period. It has gone well past the point of being ridiculous. The only exception is in undersized parties. In terms of Alliance raids, I'm telling you, the frequency that we get CT raids will plummet and it will become blatantly clear that the ilv cheesers were the biggest contributor to this problem.

Except you know the enormous bias towards crystal tower actually stops new people from being able to do the other alliance raids

When I was new, I could barely do the other raids! When CT would be a near instant pop when I first did it. All the others took half an hour to an hour and even longer!

They really need to fix this

At this point, they need to just completely revamp Labyrinth and Syrcus. I understand the need for players to do them over other raids because they're tied to the MSQ, but that doesn't mean they should be a face roll. I miss actually seeing mechanics in these dungeons.

This is just what I've heard but the alliance raids were originally designed with 2 healers, 2 tanks and 4 dps in mind, and suppooooooooooosedly, CT is actually difficult if you sync it because you're missing 3 tanks?

So they should probably rework them in case anything goes wrong.

I'm running through the raids in my head and I can't think of any mechanic that really requires two tanks per party. There's several points where there's two adds the tank in each party has to take care of, but for the most party a single tank can easily handle them, and I don't think an ilvl sync would make it overly difficult.

It would be a problem if you synced them super super low (like max ilvl was min ilvl) you would have trouble with behemoth and some of skylla’s mechanics but you could easily sync to a medium level where you are still seeing daybreak on skylla or the floor death mechanic on Glasya without needing a full set of 6 tanks

Hate to say it, but in WoW, at least last time I played, you had a max ilvl. This was based on the highest level equipment your character ever equipped. FFXIV would have to implement it on a per Job basis, and use that number for duty finder queues. People will never be able to omit upper level content but taking off gear for a roulette. If they somehow end up without their best gear they just screwed themselves.

Then I guess we would see the actual bias toward lower level content.

This topic has been brought up an innumerable amount of times, and I laugh every time that people zero in so hard on the ilvl cheese component of it.

CT has so many bias's towards it that fixing ilvl cheese would change it from being 80-90% of your roulette choices to 75-85% of your roulette choices.

-CT is the only raid required by MSQ.
-CT is the only raid that is mandatory to unlock, meaning someone can easily ignore every other alliance raid if they choose to do so.
-if even one person queueing is < level 60 on their job, all 23 of the other player's individual progressions and choices are irrelevant. You could have had all 23 of those other players be Tower at Paradgim's Breach compatible but that one dude at 58 instantly drags them all to CT. The same thing occurs if someone is <70 but they never unlocked the void series, or <80 but they never unlocked Ivalice, etc. Seriously, next time you get into CT go analyze everyone else in the alliance. A not insignificant portion of the time, you'll find someone <60.
-if it is one of their options in their wonderous tails book, a person hard queueing it will automatically drag everyone to CT.
-CT is the only raid series that grants light for ARR relics, so someone may be inclined to cheese for that purpose instead so they can double dip.
-The Allagan Catalyst item that drops in the CT raids has a very wide range of uses from being useful for crystal sand acquisition in the HW relic, to crafting the replica high allagan glamours, etc.
-The SHB relic has an option for 15x CT runs for one of its steps.

ilvl cheese is literally a drop in the bucket for the CT bias. Seriously, anytime I see someone blatantly ilvl cheesing, 90% of the time in the run, there's a new player message or someone's <60 making the ilvl cheese irrelevant. Nullifying it will be practically indiscernible as far as how much CT you get. Alternative solutions also don't really work like making CT harder since:
a) Yoshi-P has said in the past he wants large scale content to be carryable by the smaller subset of better players in each group, meaning they'll never do anything to make CT harder in the first place.
b) Making them harder will simply disincentivize people from running the roulette, or fishing for the next easiest like Rabanastre or Void Ark, and simply leaving if they get anything but them. If someone isn't interested in doing the harder raids, they won't do them. They'll take the 30min penalty and move on.

The "best" solution is to move CT to its own roulette (it cant move to MSQ since the roulettes are coded in such a way that prevent duties of different party sizes from being mixed together. this is the reason why ifrit/garuda/titan normal are in leveling and not trials, despite every other 'leveling' trial being in trial roulette instead) and just give it the same rewards as current alliance roulette. Anyone who wants their easy CT run can go in and get out, and only those who care about doing the other raids will queue for the current alliance roulette sans CT.
