Question for the people who don't dislike the 2nd relic step

Why?

I'm pretty baffled that some players are defending the implementation of this step, and I want to get your reasoning for it. Is it because it isn't a grind that is set in stone (e.g run x raid y amount of times)? Does the step being the same as the first one not bother you? Do you not mind it, but wish it was somehow different? I just want to know/understand.

I know that the forum's cluttered with the topic, but I figured that a thread specifically for this question wouldn't (hopefully) instantly devolve into flame wars and name calling.

I'm pretty casual time wise, so it's nice to not have to spend too long getting it.

I'll still have to do a little grinding for tomes cause I have about 5 I want to get.
I don't do all of the roulettes, but the ones I do give me about 620 just from tome rewards. Then I figure I'll probably get a few extra from running higher end raids for fun, so it's looking at about 2 days per relic. I've done 1 and a half already.
Should take me about a week and a half of play days, and I won't play every day, so 2-3 weeks for this step for me.

There's also the Gatherer/Crafter tools, of which I'm going to try and get for all the gatherers and my main crafter, so that's going to consume the most of my time until the next patch I'd say.

Just gonna copypaste my thoughts about this mess from another thread:

Putting aside Bozja (which is, in my opinion, the answer for midcore content thanks to solo/group skirmishes), the biggest issues I have with the lazy step two of the relic is the fact that there is no reason to explore and group up in the overworld. I should not be wistfully wishing for more fate farms but at least that had people going out into the world and doing things. The second verse, same as the first, step of the relic just feels like more filler that leans way to hard on instance/roulette grinding. They should have just said, "It's a light farm, lol" and left it at that but I guess I don't blame them for going for the lowest hanging fruit if they can get away with it. lmao

Why don't I dislike it? Because I'm not forced to do one specific content piece to complete it. I can do literally any content I want that gives tomes.



I did DR enough times to get every Shb relic. I wouldn't call that a fun grind. I just wanted the ability to complete them at my own pace after the expansion dropped because I knew DR would be dead as soon as endwalker came out.
