The number of active characters is about 1.39 million , an increase of 30,000 from the previous (1.36 million) .
The number of new characters is about 100,000, a decrease of about 40,000 from the previous 150,000 .
The number of returning characters who were inactive last time but became active this time is 420,000, a decrease of 20,000 from the previous 440,000 .
The number of active characters since the last time is about 860,000, an increase of 80,000 from 780,000.

Seems like a bit of a contradiction if it's not a translation error.

I imagine those numbers to bump up heavily around 6.4 or probably 6.5 so people who stopped after 6.0 have a long while to catch up in the longer drought. The core thing to take away is...more people are playing then before for the most part even in a 'content lul' that people think the game is in.

Yeah. Part of the reason I like posting positive information about the game in doom threads like this is because it kind of puts people on blast for legit disliking this game. They sound a lot like I did before I quit WoW. I used to do nothing but complain about certain things on their forums, and then I would complain about everything. Someone would post impressive numbers about WoW and I'd shit all over it. Same exact thing some posters are doing here with FFXIV.

Positivity is fine - But that's not what you're providing. You're just arguing with legitimate grievances. Do you think the people on this forum have no real grievances?

If I were a new player, I'd have so much to do. But I'm not. The pros for me still outweigh the cons with FFXIV currently, but unfortunately given my exhaustion of content so quickly, and the hopes that Endwalker would have provided me more this cycle, the spirit is a bit less forgiving than it used to be. I'd have typically just bit my tongue and stayed quiet. But Endwalker has forced me to start airing my grievances on these forums after 10 years.

I don't really want to say they don't innovate at all, not many people really believe that as far as new content is considered. But they definitely don't innovate where it matters most, and I feel like Endwalker has been a love-letter to the Limsa AFKers that don't want to play the game.

Not at all. Constructive criticism is fine and even warranted. There are things about this game that bother me. And I've let those be known.

I'm arguing against the incessant negativity that goes far beyond legitimate gripes, and crosses into trolling territory. Like your own posts, which straddled the line between some facts about the game with your opinion that it is dull and boring wrapped up in a condescending tone. But I've been seeing a lot of your posts lately and I truly think you'd be happier in WoW. That seems to be exactly what you're looking for.

Yeah. I'll probably finish my relic and run through Eureka Orthos once and go right back to WoW to do some Timewalking. I was planning to play both games, but I could not possibly be any more bored in FF XIV than I am right now. I am even tempted to skip Hildibrand cutscenes to get this out of the way faster and that is something I never do.

You would think a former WoW player would know that telling other upset players to stop playing the game is probably not the greatest thing to do, but also the greatest irony.
