From the newest Lucky bancho
The number of active characters is about 1.39 million , an increase of 30,000 from the previous (1.36 million) .
The number of new characters is about 100,000, a decrease of about 40,000 from the previous 150,000 .
The number of returning characters who were inactive last time but became active this time is 420,000, a decrease of 20,000 from the previous 440,000 .
The number of active characters since the last time is about 860,000, an increase of 80,000 from 780,000.![]()
Must be all the bots
Queues certainly don't feel like we have millions of players. Are they all AFK?

If I re-read that the amount of bot potential is less.
Phone atm, when was that image taken.., I doubt 890ish could see it from here in a matter of minutes. I ask out of curiosity.

To be fair, he said each expansion, which is accurate. Patches tend to be lower overall but this is still almost as high as SHB during the WoW exodus.
And Lucky Bancho tries to dismiss bots from its totals.
I took that in the afternoon, and I can repeat the image. It's been a huge problem for Marilith when we do a Player Search and 100/150 of the active players are all bots. It's more visible the first 3 days of a bot wipe, because after that they all disappear into dungeons.
The unfortunately thing is, let's say we do have that many active players.. What are they all doing? Because I don't see them engaging with content. Are we just infested with night clubs? lol
Or maybe the more realistic situation, the average repeatable content right now is so unengaging, that people just login for an hour for Roulette then bounce.
Oooorrr.. The game has now pandered so much toward Single Player MSQ, that we have a million solo players reading dialog and doing dungeons with Duty Support 24/7?
But I still don't see them.

So... You don't see them because they are spread out over what, 9 Data Centers? 10? In 4 continents?
Its not a megaserver lol. And you are on the lowest pop NA DC.
I can queue for almost any content that isn't done via PF and get in in less than 15 minutes.
Bro you think I don't DC hop? I'm forced to, to even play the game. lol
Yeah. Part of the reason I like posting positive information about the game in doom threads like this is because it kind of puts people on blast for legit disliking this game. They sound a lot like I did before I quit WoW. I used to do nothing but complain about certain things on their forums, and then I would complain about everything. Someone would post impressive numbers about WoW and I'd shit all over it. Same exact thing some posters are doing here with FFXIV.
It got to the point where I eventually had enough and realized, I was miserable in WoW. So I stopped playing it and started playing FFXIV and have never been happier as a gamer. (At least as far as MMOs go.)
So, when I tell certain posters they'd be better off playing WoW (or whatever game they seem to really like) it's not snark. It's sincerity. Because I'm speaking from personal experience. Go play something you enjoy.
