By the way low level gear, or any gear will never be hard to get because player crafters will supply it, just like in eve online. They can also make entry level mobs drop it, just like in eve online.
I agree, what Kita does not understand is when things break it needs to be replaced = demand, which in turn is made in abundance by crafters = supply. Gear will not be hard to obtain until the days where XIV dies down to a few hundred players per server.

I'm not a real big fan of gear breaking cause I am king of death but aslong as crafters aren't douchy with the prices I'd support this. FIRST though we need things that actually challenging that unless working together well death comes easy.
