You're a bit late to that party. Console players have had access to certain mods for quite a while.

ESO has different clients for PC, PS4, and XBOX One... if you look at that case-study, only PC is taken seriously. Everyone looks down on console players on ESO discord servers. If you look at rocket league... same happens there. The best players are on PC with professional players like Squishy Muffinz switching from PS4 to PC just to be more competitive.. Let's not go down this rabbit hole again shall we? I prefer being able to play with my cousin who uses PS4, while I am on my PC. Do NOT divide FCs and friend groups.

It is true that many players tend to look down upon console players in certain gaming communities, especially in online multiplayer games such as ESO and Rocket League.

One of the arguments against dividing players is that it creates fragmentation within the gaming community, causing players to miss out on the social aspect of playing with friends who use different platforms. This argument is valid, but it is important to consider the bigger picture of what a divided playerbase can bring to the table.

When players are divided, cheating can be effectively reduced as cheaters would only be playing against other cheaters. This allows non-cheaters to play in a safer environment, free from the frustration and disadvantage of playing against players who use cheats. This results in a more fair and enjoyable gaming experience for all rule-abiding players.

Moreover, it is important to understand that the division of players is not permanent. Players are still able to play with their friends and communities, but with the added assurance that cheating will not be an issue. This means that players can enjoy the social aspect of gaming while still being able to play in a fair and competitive environment.

In conclusion, while dividing players may seem like a drastic measure, it is actually a solution that can bring many benefits to the online gaming community. It provides a fairer and more enjoyable gaming experience for non-cheaters, and allows players to continue playing with their friends and communities. The divide does not have to be permanent, and players are still able to play with whoever they want. So instead of shying away from this solution, it is time to embrace it and make online gaming a better and fairer experience for everyone.

my response to you is simple.

let us weigh the benefits and harms.

your benefit: less cheating in world first races.
my benefit: people being able to play together with their family, friends, and partner.

now let us look at what % of the population that impacts.

people who do world first races:

less than 1 percent of the community.

people who want to play with their friends, family and partner:

    vast majority of the community.

hence: the only logical thing to do is not to punish the vast majority of players because some people don't have integrity in the world first race.

additionally, most people I know don't care at all about the world first race. they can't even name the people or group who got world first in UWU, UCOB, TEA, or DSR. that's how irrelevant all of that is to people who just want to play the game and don't care about ultimate raiding.

Brutal honesty incoming. Alot of you console players need pc players to clear content because alot of you console players can't see that you're being outdamaged by a white mage as a dragoon. The amount of blissful ignorance console players have. I say this as someone who was console 2 years ago. Making an all console version of FFXIV would be a disservice to console players.
