Charm, confusion, poison...you know, the usual status effects. That's partially a joke, and partially serious. We've seen normal monsters that can easily cause status ailments magically, like the last boss of Sirensong Sea who can force people to march towards/away. I would suspect a properly powered Traveler's Ward would be perfect to prevent that sort of thing from happening, and something a seasoned fighter/adventurer like the Seat of Azem would easily come up with.
