No because then Minfillia would never had been able to take over so many minfillias who died at an early age. Go to Morin again and he will tell you the story of Minfillia the Oracle of Light. And this all happened after Minfillia stopped the flood from taking over completely. There was no stasis at all and babies were still being born.

There is also Vauthry who was only born roughly 20 years or more before we journey to the first and his momma got pregnant with him during that 100 years.

Nit to mention a side quest where we welcome a child to the world after we banish the darkness... where the mother was pregnant before we started fixing things

What you're most likely confusing is what light aether does which causes stagnation and stasis in the form of stopping flows. Like a heart no longer pumping blood throughout the body and causing a cessation of life itself. It's what black rose does (not the exact heart stopping but its the best thing I can think of as the body just STOPS) in a sense and how it kills the WoL in the alternate future.


Or even better the Eden Raids where we had to restart the flow of the other aether by going to places where that element was basically clogged (us summoning the primals was effectively the draino and snake to unclog the pipes) and force the element to flow properly again

I think you must be confusing something else – possibly the description of what would happen if the Flood had not been halted? (Not that it's an accurate description of that outcome either, being more "everything stops forever", but perhaps fragments got mixed in.)

As well the quests Rannie covered, there are general indications that people are unfamiliar with ever having seen the night sky, and also there is a sidequest in Fanow dealing with rituals for a child who has just been born.

There's also the fact that we see an MSQ cutscene that 100% absolutely confirms that Vauthry was born after the Flood. So yeah, I'm not sure how you got that idea when there's so much evidence otherwise.

Sounds like you're confusing Shadowbringers with Lightning Returns.
The world in LR is exactly as you're describing.

Or what was brought up in 6.2: no one dies in the Void unless they're outright eaten by another voidsent to become stronger - the second boss is seen right outside Scarmiglione's battle circle before the fight going "no! I don't want to be eaten!" because that means she'll die. The First does not have that, people live and die there.

Tried searching, the Forum search is awful though, so maybe this has been brought up before, but...

I think the plot may be angling towards a Giant of Babil scenario.

You have the "Anchorite at Corvos", which is labeled very largely on the world map even when Corvos itself isn't (???), and supposedly, the "Anchorite" is the leftover foot of a "giant statue" that used to stand with one foot in Thavnair, and one foot in Corvos.

Then you have Khadga in Thavnair, which is held by Thavnairians to be the leftover "sword" wielded by the "gods" when they fought a long time ago.

Khadga's position would place it about right to be where that "statue" would drop it, assuming it stood straddling the Corvos Narrow.

So I'm wondering if these are all parts of the remnants of some ancient superweapon. Either Allagan, or maybe some hyper-anime thing like "Hydaelyn couldn't defeat Zodiark directly, so she created a gigantic Mecha-Rabbit Suit operated by Loporrits that blasted Zodiark into pieces".

Somehow or other, this "Giant" gets woken up or reassembled, and then does FFIV-style things to the world, or some specific target, or something.

The world unites to oppose it, maybe we even get Dwarven Tanks teleported in from the First.

We then go inside its head Alexander-style for a Giant of Babil dungeon. And maybe along the way, we unlock a trial where we fight all Four Fiends again simultaneously, just to drive home the "Did you know FFIV exists?" factor of the 6.x MSQ series.

I don't think they permanently die, but they're not conscious and they're not coming back until their consumer gets got, at which point it becomes sort of a free-for-all. I believe this was explained in 6.2, probably in relation to Scarmiglione (who himself was a weird exception).

Which tracks, given we learn in 6.3 that a big part of their motivation to invade the Source is so they can die properly. Even the closest thing they have to death isn't really death.

I don't know if someone asked this but...
If the voidsents or at least the archfiends' ultimate goal is to die on the source so they can go to the lifestream. Then why not suicide as soon as you arrive?

Golbez had multiple opportunities to come to the source and didn't use them to kill himself there.
So i guess he wants to save the other voidsents.
Personally i believe he is the shard of Azem from the 13th, so he could have been a warrior of light before the flood of darkness.
And since he couldn't save his people in the past, he decided to deliver them from their fates no matter the cost.
