Mona fell asleep on me ( her favorite pillow ) and now I can't move my legs. Looks like I'm sleeping on the couch tonight.

Awwwww :3 my kitty used to sleep on my lap all the time too. Sometimes you gotta let the cat be a cat and just endure the suffering. If they fits, they generally sits.

So I learned a new trick with popcorn bags today.

If you pop your popcorn like normal, you'll notice the top end of the bag has a very small opening to vent steam. If you open that just a very tiny smidgen more, and shake that opening over a bowl, most if not all of the unpopped kernels will come out of the bag, leaving you with just popped corn in the bag.

My professor cancelled classes because we were scheduled to have some really nasty snowfall.

Um... the snow uh... didn't fall.

I kinda wish my job did that during hurricanes. "Got one coming? We'll close just a bit early, and open the next day while it's still blowing out. Hope y'all don't mind running into debris and flooding on the road."

I was suppose to get snow too today but it got pushed until tomorrow. Ugh and I was suppose to be going out tomorrow night. Le sigh.

It could be worse. They once decided that the hurricane we would get wasn't going to be bad enough to cancel school. Well... it was. (might have been Sandy; but I think it was 2007 or 2008)

Meanwhile; it was 52 degrees here today. Works for me.

They don't cancel schools during a hurricane? I figured hurricanes were kinda dangerous? I'm from the Midwest so I know nothing about them.

They can be depending on the category they form up to. They're more likely to shut down schools and make the kids do make-up days, whereas the company I work for looks down upon those putting personal safety over working during incoming storms. Heck schools sometimes shut down during a tropical storm here.

Last time we had to shut down, we were only closed for *checks notes* less than 10 hours. Shut down early day before, but opened up at normal business times the next day, and called in people to work. Meanwhile on the road we had a good amount of flooding because the city workers normally don't clean out drainage ducts and one of the old trees fell over into the road, along with lots of unsecured trash bins and other stuff.

Sure, people were happy we were open during one, but the next day they went right back to being rude and entitled. Sometimes I wonder if working a customer service job that I have, even though that's not exactly what my job title is good for, was the right career choice.
