To be fair, in your analogy the difficulty of engineering the pyramids would equate to the difficulty in forming strategies for any particular fight. So you're just backing up Xoo's opinion.
You said so yourself that you beat CoP after all the strategies were already formed. Of course it's easy that way, because someone else already did all the hard work for you. The same logic can be applied to Ifrit, Moogle, etc, etc. They might have been somewhat difficult when they were fresh, but now that the strategies are all well known they're a freakin joke.
When content was fresh in XI it was much more difficult than the fresh content in XIV, and that's a fact.
Um, i will have to disagree. The only reason they took longer time to defeat because you have silly lock-ups for 24hr up to 72hr on every content.
I forgot, let's implement a silly JP midnight lockup for no reason other than making it seems like your contents are actually long and difficult!
1) This game plays nothing like World of Warcraft at all.
2) The graphics aren't that great, and they can look downright awkward at times. There are certainly better things in this game than it's graphical capabilities.
3) FFXI sucks now. Everything after the 2008-9 add ons is piss easy but far more tedious than this game. The community is awful and does nothing to fix the problems in the game either. Unless SE made some pre-2008 servers, you're better off playing this. Removing level capped content, level sync being beyond broken, and having a full alliance sitting around while the tank and healer are the only ones doing anything is not a good game.
