I'd say put damage meters in Savage and Ultimate. No other content needs that imo
i guess as long as someone would use dps meter to kick someone from somewhere
we shouldnt have those, kicking sux. you may say "then they should git gud"
but how is anyone supposed to gid gut if they just get kicked out of places?
"This is why we can't have nice things."
Striking dummies. The vast majority of low DPS comes from players not using their job actions properly. Even if you don't want to go through the balance or look up rotations, you should still be able to piece together an acceptable rotation, utilising all the actions available to you. Just going from a DRG only using Heaven's Thrust combo (and yes, I have seen that) to one that alternates between Heaven's Thrust and Chaotic Spring is going to be a relatively massive gain, start adding in LotD and suddenly their DPS has jumped up again. Knowing your job basics and getting used to them on a striking dummy is going to do far more for someone than trying to learn in a dungeon.
It's like you can learn how to play by looking things up or something
Community resources are quite extensive. Dont go into savage or ex pfs if you have 0 clue on how to play your job.
Sound to me you never played WoW. seriously I've been playing since WoLK and never seen ANYONE get kick out of a LEVELING dungeon cause of spec. Only happend in certain PUG that where memed at cause they usually had terrible player anyway. Also yea, I'd like a tool that let me improve my dps and let me see if someone is deadweight. If the SAM got less dps than the healer I'd like to know.Unlike driving cars through crowds of people, players will be quick to normalize judging and flaming using dps meters.
Having these metrics available will give more people something to point at and exclaim "this person is shit, let's kick them".
More people will be made aware of the disctepancy between jobs and it's going to foster a community where exclusion and minmaxing takes presedence over everything else even among casuals. If you glance over at a certain other MMO, people are getting kicked from leveling dungeons for playing the wrong spec because icyveins and their own sweaty dps meters say they suck.
I'd say this is down to a design problem though, anyone who wants to do a week 1 clear probably feels forced to use them because god forbid you use abilities in a slightly suboptimal order twice in a fight and cause a dps check fail.
And people want to emulate the top raidrs so it trickles down.
there tons of vids explaining mechanics of every fight, dungeon and trial in all difficulty. Plus, DPS chart or not, people usually tell if they accept people who don't know mechanics or not in the Party finder.
Just sound to me you want to be carried for the reward with no repercution if you play badly.
