When spreding cheer and goodwill on christmas day can get you in trouble

I didn't melt down I was more like wtf why? I was just handing out Christmas cookies and wishing folks a merry Christmas why would I be the one melting down???

As I said at the beginning, some people have a hard time with Christmas. Some people might even have trouble with people being nice / generous. I've had a couple of cases where people think something is up when I'm simply being nice or generous. Sometimes people are generous only so they can cash in on a favor later on.

Do yourself a favor and just drop this subject already and think about what was said. Think about how you approached the whole situation. The generosity is appreciated, but it's important to understand and accept that this is not an easy time for everyone and a little consideration and perhaps some forgiveness is in order.

Were you randomly forcing trades? That's annoying. Just shout that you're giving cookies away; that way only those interested would interact with you.

This, pretty much. Might not get so many people accepting them but at least the people who get them also want them.

I like giving away things, too, and the method above is my go to. FF14 community isn't the first one I have spread some of my extras either. In comparison I'd say FF14 community is not the most excited about free stuff. Maybe it is the servers i have presence on, or the time, or my face, but any time I try to get rid of anything by giveaway I usually won't end up getting rid of the thing I tried to get rid off.

And like, few years ago I tried to even giveaway whole FC with small house :'D

But on positive last note, I still like Pugy Puk minion a lot, my first minion ever and it was given to me by random person in town. And my lastest alt got Trike, which was very nice. The benefactor of that Trike just ran after my sprout face at Roots Lake/South Shroud and /tell'd: "Dino friend!!"

I was handing out cookies to folks in Limsa when a person whom I never interacted with came up to me and said "idc, go away, or get reported for harassment" When do folks say enough is enough with 4heads like this? all I was doing was spreading good cheer to folks and giving cookies out to others. So I stopped and left limsa....what a way to spoil things for others who only have good intentions. I would name and shame them but I would get in trouble.

To be honest, I often give Cookies (with a PM telling them it's a little gift to say welcome to the game as well as a small EXP boost when used before a fight), and the occasional minion I don't need, to brand new sprouts I encounter. I haven't thus far met anyone who didn't appreciate it.

Perhaps limit your generosity to new/low-level Sprouts if you do this again - they have no reason to take offense at your gift, it's actually of more use to them and it's a nice way to welcome a new Sprout to the game

A nice person would apologize and drop the subject, even if they think they are in the right.

Instead you came to the forums to spread hostility.

You even admitted you would name and shame if it wasn't a quick way to get banned.

You can't talk like that, with the double "??", insults and stuff and convince people at the same time that you are doing something nice. That you are a nice person.

Randomly trading with people is not against the rules though, lol. Doing it over and over again after someone told you to stop that is a offense. No gamemaster will warn or even ban you for trading someone cookies.
