I'm sorry this happened to you, OP. Many sour people have a no fun allowed personality. They have the strange skill of getting annoyed over small things and turning any fun experience into a bad memory for others.

Wow. People criticise me for not being a fun person. And here you guys are shaming a person who just wanted to help lift people's spirits up for Christmas. Yoshi P should really punish all you clowns and actually add the damage meter to this game.
I'm sorry that this happened to you. I had the joy of someone doing this but also trading hot chocolate with the cookie. I normally am weary of people randomly offering to trade with me, but then I saw what was being given and accepted it. Otherwise I'd of canceled the trade and put myself on busy asap.
I don't know I see this often on my server around this time of year. Would it be nice if they said in say or in a tell asking if you'd like a "Christmas" cookie and some hot coco before initiating the trade? Sure, but if you don't want it then you can just say so in a nice manner. Heck once in awhile there'll be a person handing out boiled eggs. There's one club goer who rps as a frog and hands people frogs.
So fresh it'll smack yo momma!!!
TBH I was not offended just didn't want my act of kindness to be misinterpreted the wrong way on purpose. II was more worried about getting in trouble for doing something that folks online fail to do....Just being kind to others....

It's a shame this has happened to you, especially taking into account your intentions. However, do keep one thing in mind people have varying experiences with this particular time of the year or any for that matter.
This is generally why I would suggest not doing unsolicited trades irrespective of how noble or kind the intention. Plop up a PF, or do shouts in the city-states and advertise that you're trading goodies, and then allow people to come to you if their mood is festive.
I can only shake my head at some of the responses here. You make it sound like the OP is handing out cookies out of a van in front of an elementary school.
A friend of mine hands out ducklings to sprouts they see pop up in one if the starting cities. All of them were amazed and happy at their kindness. They became friends with a lot of them and some, to this day, are now in their raid group. I think it's great.
On Spriggan I met a guy called Rat Man and he gave out free rat minions. Funniest shit ever. xD These interactions are why MMOs were made in the first place. haha
