Wait you get quest credit for unsynnced? I've always just assumed you can't...ah well. This knowledge will be applied another day I guess. Thanks.![]()

Yes, and this is a big part of the reason that i laughed at all the people complaining about Hildy being a pre-req for the new relic. The first few duties are easily soloable at 90, the last one only takes 3 or 4 people to unsync, and you can speed click and skip cutscenes through all the bits you dont enjoy from start to finish. All these people were talking about hours and hours of hated content, and all i could think is "realistically, you could be done in 45 mins or so - far less time then most of them would spend whining about it".
And this isnt Hildy exclusive. Pretty much any quest that asks you to complete something doesnt care if youre synced or not. There are some achievements that care, but no quests that i can think of.
After hours of frontlines spamming, once again I've been reminded just how much more suicidal folks are when enemies have a couple of competent DRKs. They almost never fail to pull a bunch of unwary folks to their demise. People also can't resist to focus target the DRK who's just plainly cannot die under their living dead buff.
EDIT: The same folks are also allergic to their own Recuperate, Purify, and Guard Q_Q

Dancer plus Ninja in dungeons is hilariously good for trash clearing. A tank pulled everything after the 1st boss of Ala Mhigo and we just burst real hard, the healer died but there were only 3 enemies left by then.
Well carp, it happened. Non-sprout PLD tank whose mitigation game didn't seem to be the best single-pulling in Dohn Mheg, rambunctious healer who clearly wanted meatier pulls and stayed patient until the first boss and cracked later, BLM mentor and DRG-brain me.
At the pulls after the first boss, healer tried to do the classic Rescue-on-the-tank to make them pull faster - they obliged, but seemed insistent on single-pulls after that. Healer stood to one side, refused to cast a single thing whether damage or heals, and let us all crumble. They instantly left after that. Mentor piped up and said they'll help out by switching to healer - they left and came back in as WHM, with a DD joining us simultaneously.
I wonder who was in the right in this dungeon.
Mortal Fist
Healer should have spoken up and asked the tank to pull more.
Tank definitely should be pulling more, if you have a tank at Dohn Mheg you ought to know how to pull aggro and cycle mits, it's not hard and takes two brain cells.
Tank didn't try to pull the classic, and TOS breaking, "YPYT" bs, at least according to your post.
Healer left.
Honestly props to the healer. They had every right to try to vote kick the tank because difference in play style, or take the L and leave themselves because, again, difference in play style.
Was doing an expert a couple days as MNK. Sprinted ahead of the tank who was pulling first pack to second pack, dashed to a mob, popped arm's length, and dashed back to the tank. Tank said he freaking loves it when DPS do that, free mit for him. Felt pretty good.
The first healer. If the tank can’t mitigate and single pulls at that level 73 he needs to go practice in lower level dungeons. Not mitigating and single pulling is a waste of people’s time. Did the mentor give any advice or just enable the tank’s behaviour by carrying him through it? The fact you even questioned who was in the right makes me concerned about your gameplay as well.Well carp, it happened. Shoutouts to the group I got in Smileton that didn't kick me when my power decided "Your free trial of succeeding has now expired.".
I just want to throw a shout out to the people I did a Praetorium with the other day. Really funny and fun run. First time I ever heard anyone call Cid a dad though.
You ever have one of those days as a healer that, when you queue up for roulette, you hope your party has some basic competence about the jobs they were playing for the run and, you know, letting their survival instinct take over to keep them from eating bad but sadly it just doesn't happen? And you want to speak up about the tank not using their mit properly?
Had one just now. Got out of a Babil run with a DRK DNC MCH and me on WHM. DRK was in cutscene but had some of the gear from Babil, and everything else from the 81 dungeon. That's fine, a little worse than the augmented cryptlurker you can get with poetics, but as long as they use cooldowns they should be dandy.
Apparently the tank didn't get the memo that, as a tank, you need to use cooldowns if you want to live. The only cooldown they spammed was TBN. I only saw Rampart once and Shadow Wall twice the entire dungeon (legit nothing else) and popping LD for evidently sh*ts and giggles in the middle of my holy spam near the end. Guess they didn't like me letting them get to 25% to mow down trash packs a bit faster.
Holy/regen/tetra/lily/assize/asylum/cure2/medica2 spam kept them upright for the entire dungeon. Holy stun still op and I want to keep it that way, but still it's not good for healers to have to use their entire kit to sustain a tank on a simple 2 pack pull all because of wanting to rely on a single skill that only gives a shield for a buff once broken. It does absolutely nothing on keeping them from going down faster than a pizza at a Weight Watcher's convention once that shield is gone.
You'd think either the DNC or MCH would pop Samba/Tactician during trash mobs to make sure the DRK doesn't go squish? Eh, not really. Only saw them use it during boss fights. The run took longer than usual too, with the last boss activating the check with more health than I'm used to seeing it have. Was sitting at 66% when I usually see it happen at 54%, so I honestly don't know what was happening there.
I wanted so badly to speak up and ask the tank to use their mitigations, but after past experiences of being polite and getting my head bitten off for 'daring to ask they do their job and using their kit', and 'you're toxic for even asking when you should just be spamming cure harder!' and the classic 'just stay in your lane and shut up woman,' I just left in silence after the last boss was dead.
So to any future parties: if you happen to see a miqo'te DRK not using mitigations and just entirely relying on TBN, I'm sorry I couldn't reach out to them due to people ramming down my own throat. Tell them that they need to use their mit throughout the dungeon and space them out properly. Random healers shouldn't have to go through that with tanks like them.
Fun fact: you can Surecast/Arm's Length the yeet tether on Anima and keep dpsing to your heart's content if you activate it a few seconds before it goes off. This keeps you from having to run away from the portal you're tethered to.
This one is beyond your help. Only sleep can save her now.
