IF Square Enix actually had auto demolition on, then you would actually have quite a high chance of getting properties since there would be a high turnover weekly. It sucks that on all the wards i'm on, other than my FC ward where i have some active neighbours i made friends with, the rest are just dead. I met one neighbour after like 1 month (I spend a lot of time in the wards). I haven't seen any neighbours in months with many of the houses looking untouched since they were bought.

Absolutely no need to have demo on when there are thousands and thousands of plots across Dynamis, Materia, The 4 new EU servers, and with 1800 plots for every single world in about 6-8 weeks time.

There is currently a glut of empty properties that nobody is taking. When those are all chewed up, then talk about demo, but not now.

No one is going to change server when their FC and group of friends are on a specific one already. Thats an unrealistic expectation.

Hence: there are no available plots for many EU players.

So... two things. First, this is a thread about the new data center. There are still thousands of empty housing plots. The OP doesnt need demo turned on, they needed slightly better luck in the first lottery(either in no one bidding against them, or in winning the draw). And theres a very good chance they win in round 2 anyway. Secondly, you greatly overestimate how much of a difference demo makes. They could turn it on tomorrow, and you would see few if any houses until 45 days had passed. Then there would be one wave with a noticable number of plots(for the people who had a. had a house, b. refreshed their house timer during the demo suspension and, c. stopped playing in the interim). I say noticable, it is guaranteed to be less then you hope - a lot of the houses that look "untouched" are still visited and "used" frequently. I havent seen my neighbors in... a year?... and i havent changed my garden decorations in longer then that. To them i might appear to no longer play. I visit my house every other day to do something or other inside. Anyway, once that first wave had passed and a few dozen(maybe a hundred?) people got their new houses, it would settle down. What that has meant in the past is most servers seeing single digit houses open up per month. It really isnt the big fix people think it is.
