The midlander female doesnt clip through anything, even with my whitemage robe. Nothing. But i can imagine with bunnys or roes or elezen there might be problems with clipping
I'm happy for OP, but 24 dollars is ridiculous considering:
- the "account bound" feature doesn't matter to most people who only play 1 character anyway, since the game's msq-gated content actively discourages alt creation
- that's nearly half the price of an expansion
- most people spend their time in town where mounts are prohibited anyway
It could've been a free reward from the new Variant/Criterion dungeons. Or an addition to island sanctuary's shop. Or a rare new drop from Aglaia so people would actually run it. Could've satisfied the people who wanted extra rewards for playing the game. This company confuses the hell out of me sometimes. They straight up disabled gifting even though they know it won't combat RMTers. "Wow how selfless, totally putting the game's health over profit." but then during a time when people are complaining about "not enough rewards" they go and release a reward and charge 24 dollars for it lmao. I hope for the sake of anyone buying it that it doesn't have clipping issues on larger races, but who knows at this point. Quality control on cash shop stuff has basically flown out the window. Next time you see someone in fat cat loungewear, look at the tail as they run. It looks 2 dimensional ffs. 24 dollars. Amazing. Even 10 dollars would've been pushing it imo. But they can do it, because people will buy it without thinking about the slippery slope they're enabling. I'm not immune either, I bought the goddamned fat cat outfit and felt like a dirty slut afterwards.
I wonder how much it cost on the chinese version of the game, or if they were even charged at all.
Speak for yourself on points 1 & 3. Most people do way more than afk in Limsa 24/7. Also, people having alts isn't uncommon at all tbh.I'm happy for OP, but 24 dollars is ridiculous considering:

You know what'd be cool, would be an option to buy a cheaper version of that mount without account-bound as a feature. Because I only have one character that I play actively, and this is the case for the vast majority of the people I play with. I do know altaholics, two of them, out of the hundreds of people I've encountered. I'm pretty sure if they made a 10 dollar version of that mount that could only be used on one character, a lot of people would really appreciate it.
Your point about Limsa is true for a tiny percentage of the player base and you know it. I can speak with certainty on this because I actually enjoy checking out the game's environments and scenery, and whenever I ride around looking at different outposts and towns, I see a resounding no one. Maybe once in a blue moon, there'll be some RPers outside Ul'dah doing an event or on the steppe or something, but most of the time it's just a dead empty world and I wish it were different but it's not.
Your whole post treats exceptions like they're the common state of things, and I'm frankly not sure why you're doing it.
I see people out in the world from time to time, but I don't get enjoyment from mounts from other people looking at me so I'm not sure why it matters.
I'm super happy that they brought this mount over, and it's a very cool mount so I think it's worth the price.
My only complaint is that I purchased it five hours ago and it still hasn't been delivered yet, but I can be patient.
The point wasn't "I want people to look at me," it's that for the majority of players, most time is spent in zones where they can't even use the mount they spent 24 dollars on. Unless you're doing maps or attending some RP event or you're actually new and doing the msq, there's no real reason to wander around in the world so most people just stay in towns or chill in their front yard (which, tbf, is a place where you can use a mount). Before another person goes "well ackshually i've seen 1 man in the middle of nowhere so ur wrong" just go to limsa, go to uldah, go to gridania, and then go fly around the areas outside. Way more people just chill in town. You can't use your mount in town. These things shouldn't be 24 dollars imo. I'm done being stuck on this point of all things.
Also that mount's showy as hell, so if you don't get enjoyment from being stared at you purchased the wrong mount lmao
I agree it would be great if they had single character purchase options in addition to account wide but from listening to YoshiP's explanations about how the product keys work and the scary Mogstation Queen (slight sarcasm), I doubt it will happen. The majority of requests are for things to be account wide and the mounts seem to be the only cash shop items they sell that way.You know what'd be cool, would be an option to buy a cheaper version of that mount without account-bound as a feature. As for the world being empty, if all you're doing is walking outside of the Gate of Nald to Stonesthrow, of course it's empty. It's an area with content only relevant to new characters short of a couple of MSQ and class quests. I promise you it's not empty like that everywhere. I spend most of my time out in the world for hunts, tribal quests, gathering, FATE grinds, etc. I never have problem running into other players whether they're leveling through MSQ or doing some of the things I'm doing. But those areas also aren't. jammed packed with people standing around doing nothing either.
Even in Ul'dah, there's a huge difference between the number of players you'll find hanging out in the Steps of Nald by the Aetheryte and Quicksand and Steps of Thal in the market area versus up in the Hustings Strip. Those who go out into the world are out there to do content so they're never in one place long, unlike those who hang out in the city-states to do nothing but talk.
Deliveries of items on their first day of release or when a big sale starts tends to be much slower than normal. Honestly nothing new about that. I always wait at least a day those rare occasions I want a new item.I see people out in the world from time to time, but I don't get enjoyment from mounts from other people looking at me so I'm not sure why it matters.

I guess we've just had different experiences then. I was literally doing FATEs in Thavnair yesterday to finish up leveling my RDM and encountered 3 other people on that fate grind the entire time. It actually sucked too, because I would've loved for a tank to show up. This was in the middle of the day, on the server that's got an influx of people flooding it from other worlds 24/7. PF for those FATEs were also dead as hell, but there was one guy with a party of 3 doing fates on the moon so I guess there's that. I really wasn't trying to get stuck on this point, though. The main thing was like, "hey look at all these people in towns not using the mounts they paid for, because they literally can't due to game limitations. Maybe these things shouldn't be nearly 30 dollars."I agree it would be great if they had single character purchase options in addition to account wide but from listening to YoshiP's explanations about how the product keys work and the scary Mogstation Queen (slight sarcasm), I doubt it will happen. I don't understand. I personally don't see anything wrong with people hanging out in towns. They are towns aren't they?
I mean we all wish everything is free, but somethings do cost money, unfortunately.
Good to know. I don't think I've ever purchased something the day it released, but I'm just that excited about this mount.
There's nothing wrong with hanging out in town. The issue is that you can't use mounts there. I've said this three times.
It's painfully obvious that you're missing the point on purpose, so I'm done engaging with you in good faith.
